Had to roll it out of the garage for a couple days but we’re back to it:thumbsup: that gave me some time to bring the crossmember to the welder to add supports:

Still need to troubleshoot turning the crankshaft later.

Bro! I totally forgot that I notched the bottom part where the guide seats, I did that because it seemed kind of close, I don’t believe it’s 100% needed, but I was looking in to the worst case scenarios. So sorry for forgetting about this! You can still do it with the plate in place, because I did. 07A42747-51BF-4A44-A902-468272DE0FCA.jpg

Well I used PAC, but again check if you need to, I believe I kind of overkilled it.

9022FEA0-45F4-4D06-98F4-6E12249732C6.jpg The issue might be that the gap between the flexplate and torque converter isn’t enough. I can’t rotate the torque converter from behind the flexplate.

this might be the dumpster fire I was expecting but we will see:)

After some troubleshooting seems my best route is dropping the trans and reseating the torque converter

Yea you should be able to easily move it, maybe it popped out during install. Sorry to hear that, that’s a lot of work

I looked into the manual swap, it looks like a completely different ballgame in terms of difficulty lol

Who knows, I might need it LOL

I'm really hoping I didn't destroy the input shaft or pump. One other lesson learned, don't go overboard using the bell housing bolts to pull the transmission towards the block. That might have been an early sign I could have noticed with more experience. I heard some clicks while bolting everything up that at the time I thought were the dowels:anonymous:

TC seized to the engine. I’m going to guess I should replace the flex plate, I’m not sure what tolerances I threw off if it got bent during install. Waiting for someone to spot me before I wiggle everything out then I’ll update on the condition of the transmission.

** any other words of wisdom would be much welcomed

so you cranked the bell housing bolts on and got it jammed up? Or was something screwed up from before? I've only dropped a few auto transmissions before but I would say depending on cost maybe that 6 speed trans swap is looking better and better.

It may have been the torque converter wasn’t seated properly.

Worst case scenario this transmission needs some new parts + flexplate. Not sure how much that will cost yet but the listing I’ve seen has the 4wd trans, ECU, and driveshafts for $2500

Nothing bent or metal shavings at first glance, I might be a lucky MF
