    Still lookin' for a Taco
OK, so I have been lurking here trying to learn about Taco's from you all as my search for one continues.
I've been focusing on trying to find a Prerunner as 2wd is all I need for what I will be using the truck for, mainly highway and occasionally pulling a trailer.
I have driven a Prerunner TRD Sport and liked it, the suspension seems great for the road.
So on to my question. I found a Prerunner TRD Offroad for sale, why would I want this combo ? What's the difference in suspension between Offroad and Sport ? The truck in question is about 80 miles from me or I would just go and check it out.
Of course I did a search but could not seem to find much on this.
    Thanks.

My understanding, and keep in mind I could be wrong, is that the sport suspension as with any sport badged vehicle is a stiffer riding suspension. The off-road is usually softer as it's designed to travel better for the hazards found in an offroad scenario. The PreRunner designation is given to Tacoma models that are usually 2wd, but lifted a little more like the 4x4 Tacoma models. Designed to give the more appealing/aggressive stance of the 4x4 to someone that didn't want to pay for or need the 4x4 option.

The difference in suspension is minimal. A slightly larger sway bar on the sport. That's it.

The off-road has the rear locker.

The sport has the hood scoop and color matching numbers, mirrors, door handles etc.

Off road prerunners still have the rear locker.

Rear locker and no scoop on the Off Road. That's what I like about it.

Ahh yes the scoop. I like the look of the scoop and is one of the reasons I went with the sport.

I always thought it was odd that prerunners got the TRD off-road decals on the side of the bed, but that the 2.7L 4X4s don't have anything. Seems counterintuitive to me. Are the suspensions different?

No, only off road models get off road stickers. Prerunner or 4x4.
TRD sports get sport stickers, prerunner or 4x4.
