I’m going to look at buying my first Taco tomorrow. The owner originally included “Prerunner” in the listing but removed it after I pointed out in the description he said it was 4WD.
Are there any interior controls/switches or clues that would giveaway if it was a 4WD conversion or if it was 4WD from the factory? I’ll get under the truck and look or front axles/CVs.

    thanks!

Stock 4WD has the knob on the dash:

A 4WD conversion will likely have an actual shift knob for the transfer case:

The electronics/computer in the Tacoma transfer case make it an unlikely candidate for use in a PreRunner -> 4WD conversion.
