Prerunner

I have tried finding information about this but nothing that seemed conclusive, so I figured I would turn to the experts.

Is there a such thing as a manual prerunner double cab?

 

Definitely not in the 2.7L flavor. They were all 4 spd autos. Not sure about the v6 trucks though

PreRunner is just a designation for 2wd 6 lug Tacomas with a 4wd suspension.

There are some double cab short beds out there with a manual trans but finding one could prove difficult as the vast majority made were automatics.

If you are looking for a double cab long bed those were auto only in both 2wd and 4wd.

@Dm93 I understand the Prerunner is a 6lug 2wd but seems like all the ones I have seen for sale are autos and I would rather a manual. Short or long bed wouldn't matter honestly. I just didn't want to be looking for something that didn't exist, but sounds like it's a unicorn type of situation.

 

Yea they are out there in both 2wd and 4wd AFAIK but manual 4x4 seems to be more common.

If you are looking for a PreRunner in a Manual Trans, it will be asked to find one with a 2.7 engine.
That’s what I had for my current truck.

 

Not so long ago a dude was selling one in yotatrader’s ig. If I am correct the price seemed like something in the picture was happening.

 

So far from the brochures I could open seems like only the access cab had the option for manual.

 

I've got an 09 PreRunner Access cab v6 manual. Not sure what's available with double cabs but my configuration is pretty rare. While looking I would routinely do a nationwide search on Autotrader and typically find maybe a handful while there were hundreds, if not thousands of automatics (2nd gen).

 

I finally got around to looking at all the brochures and it looks like they kept the PreRunner AC v6 manuals around from 05-13 like the X-Runners.

 

Good to know, what was the availability for double cabs? Would love to get stats on the #s sold for these somewhat rare combinations

 

From what I have found no double cab PreRunner v6 manual exists. Im not sure about numbers for PreRunners, but from what I found out X-Runners were around 2500 a year.

 

Wow, just one body style (AC) for 2wd/V6/manual. I would guess the # built are somewhere around X-Runner volumes. Are you trying to find one or do you have to have a DC?

 

Yea you can get 4WD manual DC but I have my Tundra for the 4WD duties. I dont currently have a Taco. Im looking to get one to be my truck build that I have always wanted to do.

 

Back in 2012 I had my chance to buy one. But I didn't. I miss a manual auto. Might not get another chance to buy one lol.

@Ricardo13x thanks for the heads up. I have been doing more research and now I'm not sure if I want to still get a prerunner or an Xrunner. Either way it will be the access cab v6 6spd for sure.
