    @Huckshot I understand your thought process in what you want to do, but you are approaching the problem from the wrong direction. You have a problem with your upper control arm hitting your coil spring, and your solution is to move the upper control arm higher (extending the spindle taller) to prevent this. You don't seem to be considering the side affects of doing something like this.

    In stock form, your suspension looks like this:

    upper arm
    .............s
    .............p
    .............i
    .............n
    .............d
    .............l
    .............e
    lower arm

    yours looks like this:

    u
    ..p
    .....p
    .......e
    ..........r
    .............s
    .............p
    l.............i
    ..o..........n
    .....w......d
    .......e.....l
    ..........r..e

    and you want to do this:

    upper arm
    .............{}
    .............{}
    .............{}
    .............s
    .............p
    l.............i
    ..o..........n
    .....w......d
    .......e.....l
    ..........r..e

    This might seem like a good idea, but what happens when you hit a bump? You suspension does not stay in the same place. Your suspension will compress and look like this:

    ...........r{}
    ..........e {}
    .......p...{}
    ....p.......s
    u...........p
    .............i
    .............n
    .............d
    .............l
    .............e
    lower arm

    When this happens, your spindle and upper control arm will smash into the top of your fender. It will also over extend the ball joint or uniball if you were able to put something like this together. When this happens the joint will most likely break, destroying the upper arm, wheel, tire, fender, truck, and maybe even YOU.

    This is not something you should be messing with if you don't understand the geometry involved. You would not only be putting yourself at risk, but other people on the road as well.

    You can draw with letters better than I can draw with CAD.

    Great job @nzbrock

    Haha that took me way longer than I wanted it to. I am much better at CAD, I was just too lazy to open up a program.

    Go to off road warehouse (if you have one near you) and look at the uniballs and uniball cups, The uniball cup is what your asking about pressing the uniball into. Your stock arm doesn't have a cup to press it into. There is also a circlip that holds it in. You can buy the uniball cups, get a tubing bender and make your own arms, but you need to have the caster & camber correct and or adjustable or you'll be all over the road. If you buy an aftermarket upper control arm they've already done the figuring out for you :)
