One bucket contains your soap with a bucket filter on the bottom, the other is just clean water. You rinse each time you wash a panel in the clean water rinse bucket then into the soap bucket. It eliminates putting dirt back into your soap bucket and back onto the vehicle.

It's sort of similar to the three shells.

Another here that uses a power washer to wash cars. 2200 psi 40 degree tip. Zero issues, ever. It's def not strong enough to peel paint unless you have a defect. I did notice a rock chip on my hood earlier this week. Maybe it's from the power washing, rather than the highway driving?! Lol

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I used to use my pressure washer on my vehicles until I did the same thing on my Silverado (previous to Tacoma). I was spraying rear rocker panel and took a huge ass chunk of paint off. My theory at the time was the paint must have been compromised by a rock chip and I got too close trying to get some stubborn dirt off.

It could be operator error as everyone else has been stating, but if the paint is "soft-feeling" as you say on the bottom, it could be a number of things, especially depending on where you live.
If you're in a northern state that uses salt on the roads and such and you drove on the roads a bunch without washing your car, it may have damaged the integrity of the paint, although I don't see it working that fast. Bit it could also be a primer defect from the factory. I know that Chevrolet had a serious issue with that with their Express vans from about '02-'12. The paint would just flake off for no reason.

Thanks.. "WHATSTCP... never heard of 2-bucket method so I looked it up. It makes too much sense... will definitely cut down on micro scratches. Never too old to learn something new!

I have a couple of these chips in my "rocker guard" paint as well. The chips are in the superwhite topcoat only and you can feel the soft undercoating in the chip. Any thoughts on using touch up paint on this area? The soft undercoating is rough and almost looks like some of it raises above the chip. Should I do a light wet-sand first to try to smooth it out before touch up? Does the Toyota touch up paint use a single stage for the superwhite or should I get clear as well?

i use one of those spinning vortex/turbo tips to soak and rinse, and a low pressure foam gun. the vortex tip is safe and super effective, just keep your distance.

The touch-up paint is also single stage?
