Hello there TW. So I usually have people come to me for help but this time I need help from ya'll. I want to get my hubby a pressure washer for X-mas and I have no idea which one to get. I would like to get something that can be used on the truck but also be adjusted to use on the concrete, etc. I know nothing about them at all but it would be nice if there is a way to filter the water so you can get more of a spot free rinse as well.

Help a girl out TW

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
As with anything it all depends on budget. For water filter, foamer or anything for the car i would check out autogeek.com or chemical guys. They also make water filters that can go on a garden hose before the pressure washer.
For the pressure washer you go electric which is fine for cars with the lower pressure but some can't be adapted for foamers. Gas powered can be too much for a car if it's not adjustable with pressure or different tips. For good concrete, patios, etc you want around 2500-3000 psi. Some will have an actual pressure adjustment to dial down the pressure but they will cost more. If it's not adjustable make sure it comes with multiple tips. They will very in width pattern which lessens the pressure on a single point. Hope this helps a little...

What he said, but go with something more commercial grade.

Probably looking to spend no more than $250 on one. Is it feasible to get one for the car that would still have enough pressure to tackle bigger jobs or is it better to just focus on one use. My biggest concern is getting one that puts out too much pressure and rampaging the paint either on the vehicle or house if we use it for both. Dies anyone who what the dealerships use?

I have had great use out of my electric one that I got from lowes like two years ago. Have used it on the truck, around the house, and everything else. It is a green works one, the model I have is no longer made by them as they have been updated over the years.

Have not had any issues with it over the many truck washes I have used it for, I have also used it to clean my patios at my house.

If you are getting it for him to use on the truck... definitely get him a foam cannon and some good soap for it as well from like Chemical Guys or so forth. Will make it a lot better to use!

If I didn't run out of soap, I was going to offer to wash the contractors van at the next door neighbor.

    Everything TW members recommend
I have the Hydroshot Worx for trail/camping use. It replaced a pressurized OBW system which was a PIA to constantly pressurize with my OBA. Use it all the time to wash dishes, pots n pans, clear/clean front brake rotors/pad area after going through mucky shit. I use it both ways, with the long pickup hose and with the 2 liter bottle adapter for extreme portability. It’s rated at 320 PSI Max and I love it!

I have a 2800 PSI Honda powered Karcher for home use. It’s nice, but PIA to maintain a small gas engine.

Marie- If I were to do it over again, I would go with the highest PSI rated electric model I could find. Less maintenance, but should be fine for general home and car wash use.

Not sure if it’ll be in the budget but try to get one with a triplex pump. Buy once cry once.

    Thank you for that.

I just am not sure how much PSI is ample and how much is overkill.

It is a 1500 PSI one.

Looks like this, but this is the updated one but essentially the same exact thing.

That's the exact one I have! I like it, but sometimes it does this weird thing where it "revs" really high and stops pumping water and I have to shut it off. Fire it back up and it works fine. Happens probably 1-2 times every time I bring it out. Not sure why. Other than that it's an excellent pressure washer.

That is weird. Some of the reviews did mention that it looses pressure. I have been looking for a few days now and it is hard to find one that doesn't and one that doesn't leak. It seems like any one of the them can.

If that's the case, then I'd recommend it. I can get up close and personal with my paint, and it doesn't damage it, yet it'll take all the crap off after a wheeling trip. Plus the foam cannons fit on the end.
