That's funny. Why do all the other branches bag on the coast guard so much? I have few buddies in the marines who talk shit about Coast Guard every chance they get.

Usually because they have no idea what the CG actually does outside of search and rescue. To someone who is trained and bred to to one single thing, anything outside of that is considererd inferior. (Not every soldier is of this mentality, but the ones who talk the crap typically are!)

I have been through training with people from every branch of the service, typically we get the, "Why is the CG here?" and once I "enlighten" the guys as to what we actually do, they give respect where respect is due.

EVERY time I go to Camp Lejeune for training, I end up turning into a CG recruiter, and EVERY time I'm onboard a USN ship it's the same thing. Funny how that works!

    Haters! :D

It's more of a sibling rivalry though, every branch does things others would love to do, shit talking starts from there. Would you rather be based in Pendleton or on Miami Beach?
