Running 285\75's and through some consistent abuse and self-clearancing I destroyed stock fenders and ripped out all the fenderwell plastic. Fiberglass is getting painted and will be installed soon but now the intake is directly exposed to the tire... Any suggestions on how to keep crap from flying into this?
I was thinking I would rivet on some wire mesh but unsure how to do that without restricting intake air flow

wouldn't call it a work of art, but it'll clear with my fiberglass and I shouldn't find rocks in the intake anymore. Airflow shouldn't be hurt any more than a dirty air filter ever could and I'd take a bit of impeded airflow over an engine grenading after too much gravel gets in the filter. Opinions?
