I've tried searching this topic but could only really find a few sporadic posts about new purchases and not one "master list." I have a 2001 2.7L Xtra cab Auto 4x4 with 195k and want to do a pretty good overhaul in the next 6 months to get it purring. I'm working on a small budget so would like to prioritize things in terms of importance to long term health, but also want to make sure that I replace things "in order." What I mean by this is, for example, should I replace the fuel filter and fuel pump at the same time. Will just replacing the fuel filter mean that it degrades faster if I don't also change out the pump? Or can I stagger these replacements and be just fine? Here is my total "To-Do" list, and would like to know what you would do first with your first $300 or so, and what I am forgetting. I have pretty basic mechanical knowledge but am a quick learner and have some good mechanic friends.

    Maintenance to-do:
    - Fuel Filter
    - Fuel Pump
    - MAF sensor
    - O2 sensor
    - Alternator (new or rebuild?)
    - Water Pump
    - Valve covers
    - Grease driveshaft U-Joints
    - Replace drive belts
    - Brake pads and calipers (running a little squeaky but have life left)

I also have a random note about lower ball joints, driveshaft carrier bearing, wheel bearings and rear axle seals.

Apart from draining the fluid and replacing filter, is there anything else I can do for the transmission aside from a rebuild? It is shifting fine but it could be a little smoother. Previous owner was not a maintenance hound so I want to get a good jumpstart on all of these before they become problems. I'm also planning a suspension overhaul with Blistein 4600s and OEM coils for comfort, but that will probably be in a year because $$$. Thank you and if I have missed a really obvious thread on this then I apologize and please delete this and shame me properly.

Most of this list are repairs, and done based on Condition of the part.

Start by fixing the broke parts (Valve Covers Leaking? Alternator not charging? Fuel Pump not pumping?)

Then do your maintenance (Replace Belts, Filters and ALL Fluids, Grease Steering and Drivelines, Clean and Re-lube brake calipers and guides, Clean MAF)

This is exactly what I was looking for tbh. I don't have any good reason to think things are not working, I just want to get ahead. In that case I guess I will do my maintenance and tackle my brakes first until something else comes up. Thank you.
