Hello, Bought a 2012 Tacoma in July and had the rusted frame of my 2002 replaced by Toyota which I sold in June. Today I took 2000.00 for my rusted frame 4Runner, and took a beating of a loss. Toyota said tough luck. Ialso just bought a 2001 mint Land Cruiser with 45500 k miles on it. My question is what can I do to the frames to prevent them from rusting out on me. I hate taking a beating on these vehicles. I would appreciate any help on this.. Thanks, Jay.. Putnam County New York....

I've done this twice since I bought my truck and to this day, the frame looks brand new.

Powerwash the entire undercarriage and let it dry. Pour Thompson's Water Sealer in an automotive paint sprayer, lay down on a creeper and go to town spraying and misting everything..... I mean everything.

Water beads right off, dirt washes off super easy and I have literally NO RUST on my frame. Thompson's Water sealer doesn't attract dirt like Fluid Film does.

i forget what it is called, but back in 2010 i guy i was working with bought a new tacoma and i showed him my frame, he is a pilot, he coated on whatever is it they use on plane parts and it seemed to have worked well considering all the muckwe used to travel through, even saltwaterflooded roads. maybe someone knows what that is, i moved since then or i'd go by and ask.

    cheers,
    disco

Krown rust proofing is big here in Canada. I have mine rust-proofed with Krown, and will be having it done every year.
