2-1 spacer lift. 31x10.5 bfg. Custom roof rack I designed and built. More mods to come ,of course.
First post. Hello. I have a 2017 Tacoma.
I’m a wilderness canoe tripper. I drive logging roads and power lines and then leave my truck for 4 to 7 days in the bush.
Truck thefts have increased dramatically in the last year and a half.
I’m asking if there is a relay I can pull to prevent the truck starting. And the location. I’ve looked at the relay box under hood and can’t decipher some of the labels.
I would normally pull the fuel pump relay but have learned, through this forum ,that 3rd gens don’t have one.
I want to put a kill switch in the full pump wiring but don’t have time for this season.
    Thanks for your advice. .

    Oh look, another mod....

A relay would help prevent it from being stolen. I also recommend hiding an Apple Air Tag somewhere in your truck. In the event all security measures are bypassed, you can track it down VERY quickly and help police recover it.

Here’s what I’ve done. I have a Miller Cat Shield to at least slow down a cat thief and when parked in the boonies I put a Club on my steering wheel. Neither will stop a determined thief but it will slow them down or go on to an easier target.

Lock your spare tire on then take a tire off and hide it in the woods chained to a tree. Not fun but truck will probably be there when you get back.

Interesting tactic. Can only hope they don't drive up in another Taco and use their spare.

Just disconnect the battery, just the positive terminal should do it.
