So this is probably a total noob question, but I searched and didnt find it anywhere else. While I was wiring my DVD/E-brake bypass to a switch mounted in one of the blanks, I popped out one of the Dummy switches (2nd dummy from door, 3rd space overall, the X in my poorly illustrated diagram)

    DOOR -- [@] [@] [X] [@]

and behind it was a set of wires and the male end of a harness, not connected to anything.

My question is simply, what the hell is that harness/wire for?

Is it just something that came pre-wired but is part of a package I dont have? Security?

Exactly, it's an option your trcuk didn't have. Maybe an alarm, or most likely traction control. Possibly the bed power invertor, something like that. If you were to take the dash apart, you'd find many mystery plugs like that.
But, if you were wondering, just getting the switch put in wouldn't give you whatever accessory it was.

hahaha...that is beyond obvious, but thanks for the heads up. And thanks for the answer...what I'm really looking for is exactly which of those accessories it's for

Is that the location where my clutch start cancel button is? (note: I have a 4-cyl manual) Try searching for the threads regarding OEM switches, there's pics out there that might indicate what should be there.

I have the base model and I too was wondering what those switches were for, Thanks for the response. Can we tap into them for power? Is it easy to add that accessory (more than just adding the switch)? Or are they just dead?
