That's a great deal, and I expect you'll be able to put the money saved compared to a 2016 to good use. Enjoy the new truck!

Thanks! I'll have to post in the intro thread tomorrow, and then start roaming the Gen 2 forums.

So it's a 2 wheel drive? Why not just get an sr5 and not waste your money on the off road?

Because they will make their money in all that crap you don't need. They will also sell below invoice to hit a manufacturer sales number that will make them more money on future vehicles

It's a 4 wheel drive. Do they make Off Road package in 2 wheel drive? o_O I've never built one online without OR and 4 wheel drive configuration.

The internet can be your friend here.

Use Toyotas website to determine the exact vehicle and options you want.

Send that information to every Toyota dealer within whatever distance you are willing to go to get the vehicle. (Even $1k miles isn't bad if you get the right price).

If you are a cash and carry buyer (cash, no trade) or you already have your own financing in order (same as cash to the dealer) tell them so.

Tell them to send you their best out the door price.

Not all will respond. Some will respond with a 'call me'. A few will respond with a price. A couple will respond with a good price.

You need to know going in what you are willing to pay, so you know when you see the 'good price'.

Learned something new! Well, mine is the full 4x4 DCSB TRD OR. Figured I could enjoy the trails here in the Rocky Mountain State.

Thank you for responding. They make the 2 wheel drive OR at 10:1 to the 4 wheel drive. They make the 2w sport at 15:1 to the 4w sport!

You got a great deal if it's a 4x4. That's worth it to the future price of the 16 in that configuration.

Sounds nice. But not always the case.

Pretty true if you are willing to wait till the hype wears off of something and the supply begins to build up. And that may be true for these trucks right from the get go.

But some folks insist on being early adapters, or the first on their block. There are many examples over the years of vehicles that were selling for well over MSRP, for several months after introduction, 'just because'. I never bought one, but know others that have.

But IMHO this should not be the case with this truck. In fact, the whole 'Toyota tax' idea is pretty silly when you read about all the significant issues folks have. You have to wonder how long they can ride on rep alone..............

Dunno... Over the last 30 years having owned 87,89,93,00,04, trucks and 07,12 FJ's and never having a single problem with any of them, not even a water pump or thermostat issue. Only thing I have ever done to any of those trucks were brakes... I guess I must just be lucky. :) and this is why I will be picking up a 16 when they come out. And yes, I will most likely pay sticker, or close to it to get what I want. Just saying.
