Ditching my blocks/AAL on my 6" Fabtech lift in favor for some full leaf packs. I just got off the phone with Alcan and I was quoted $700 plus shipping... Now that seems a lot higher than what others have paid, am I wrong?

Also, for those that have Alcans, did you net the amount of lift you asked for? I've seen several threads where the 6" springs turned out to be close to 7", or more.

    Thanks

Just got another quote today, this time through email, for 5" springs at $650.
It looks like its the going rate these days. On the phone, Bill said he will build the springs for up to 4" of lift for $600, for every inch of lift above that it is an additional $25 per inch, per side.
Still curious as to how accurate his lift measurements are, I would be disappointed if I ordered 6" springs and came out with 7"+ of lift, my front coilovers would have to be cranked down like crazy...

Well, I took the plunge today, ordered 5.5" springs. We will see.

^Bill is REALLY good at building springs and can hit his numbers perfectly... BUT... just make sure that you are getting the springs that YOU spec'd out. Sometimes thing can get crazy over there and he gets a little confused. So, when you receive your order in the mail, take a tape measure to them as a sanity check. (says the guy who took apart his suspension before realizing that his order was wrong)

One quick question though... are you running slightly longer shackles? (since you got the 5.5" lift instead of the 6") If not, this would be a good time to get some and net you better extension out of your suspension.:)

Thanks for the input, hoping he comes real close. I've heard of others netting inches over what they ordered.

I'm not running longer shackles, but maybe I should investigate. Wouldn't a longer shackle equate to less lift?

I paid $700 shipped (5% mil disc included) for my 6" lift Alcan springs, he was spot on with the desired lift height. They ride way better than stock leafs as well. Rusted to shit as soon as rock salt hit them though! Which is typical with all leafs IMO

I ordered mine on Feb 7th and got them about 4-5 weeks later. Not a bad turn around really. I havent installed them yet as I am waiting for new ubolts and nuts to get shipped to me. Should I get longer shackles? I really have no idea other than what the order form from Alcan said, and it mentioned getting 1.25 inch shackles.

Springs are in the mail, not a bad turn around time. Ordered the 12th, scheduled to be here Friday the 28th.
Paid $785 total to my door, for 6" springs and bushings.
I'll report back once I get them installed.

Also, sidenote. The spanner wrench that came with my truck for my Fabtech coilovers was broken. I called Fabtech today and they're sending me one free of charge. Thumbs up to them.

Got the springs installed yesterday, I didn't get an after measurement yet, but the height is perfect. Hoping they son't settle too much. All axle wrap is gone, but I will need to shim the rear axle to get rid of a small vibe from 3-4mph, something the truck has always had.
