I saw a trade I might wanna jump on at a dealership. They say the price is on the sticker and no haggling. What do you guys do? Or what do you offer based on the sticker? It's a 2017 4x4 trd with a sunroof and about 35kmiles on it listed for $31,500. I've always wanted and sunroof and wanted to upgrade from my prerunner. Any suggestions? Advice? Thx

Actually all the dealers I found have this no haggle policy on their website. At least the Toyota ones.

Doesn't mean you still can't haggle. Just because it's their policy, doesn't mean that you can't offer something else.
It's a psychological thing. Makes people think that that's a great low price, and makes people less likely to offer an amount below what is indicated.

Nothing at all to loose by offering less.

If they come back with "That's the no haggle price". Then ask "Is that a no?".

Make them say no to your offer. But don't tell yourself no, for them.

True, what do you think of the price they're asking based on the specs?

Seems like a fair deal has options you wanted. If both party walk away happy than its a great deal. You can keep looking to save some $ but the time you lose. I saw a couple of 3rd gens on Carvana sr5 4x4 40k+ miles for $26-27k but non trd for me I had trds previous years and prefer w out it put $ toward suspension. Good luck!

I think it's a bit high. But it's hard to tell without actually looking at it.
I always pay what it's worth to me to make me happy. I don't want to pay a crazy price. But, being happy with a purchase that I have made has a value to me that goes beyond a few dollars.

Go online and see what comparably equipped Tacomas are going for in your area. Then take into consideration the mileage etc.

Good luck and keep us posted

Depends on how much you are willing to pay I suppose. I bought my 19 Trd Off-road DC brand new for around $35k. It doesn't have a sunroof, but still that makes me think the used 17 is priced a bit high.

I got my loaded (sans sun roof and leather) 19 OR for $36k plus fees and crap in California. I see 17s around here in the 28k range.

Besides that, I don’t know how hot it is where you live, but I almost never used my sunroof on my old truck. It was always too hot to open it in the summer and too noisy to open it in the spring and fall. If it didn’t have an insulated electric cover it would have made getting in the truck in the summer even more miserable.

I’ll never waste that money again, but everyone is different. I would suggest you test drive it with the SR open.

In my recent experiences with dealers there isn't much haggling going on anymore. They'd throw me a bone of a couple hundred bucks, if that, but that was it. The best we could do on the used CR-V we just bought was to FORCE them to remove the stupid alarm setup they try and make you buy. I basically said I'll pay for the car but absolutely will not pay for ANY of their add-ons and BS. I had similar experiences at other dealers where we made offers on used cars.

What I've seen is that the sticker price on the lot often has wiggle room but the "internet" prices they list are basically already at their bottom dollar price.

Dealerships don't want to work with the price? Walk, and find another Toyota dealership.

Last two used cars I bought from Toyota dealers would not negotiate on price, but did bump up their offers on my trade in substantially.

Dealer here put my 18 TRD (no sunroof) 28000 miles up at $30,500 which I got 29400 in trade. Try to find the cost of a sunroof as an option on a new one, should give you an idea

Use KBB or NADA to figure out the reasonable low range for the vehicle for a Good Condition vehicle with the exact option-set. Go a little lower than that as the starting negotiation price, then work up to that reasonable low price. And also have an idea of your reasonable limit that you aren't willing to go above, but don't tell the dealer that.

Also be aware of advising trade-in and willingness to finance right away through the manufacturer's financial service. I'd have the check on hand from the bank or credit union if you are serious about it - which can always be returned if there is no-deal.

I bought my truck at a no haggle dealership and after an hour and a half I got them down $500 and bought it. So they will move a little but not a ton from my experience

The most Toyota dealers don’t haggle on used cars/trucks because they know there isn’t an exact same one out there that you can compare to like brand new cars. If the truck has the exact color/option etc that you want, the price is not bad at all. I say buy it. The dealer will most likely sell the truck within a couple of weeks...if not, then you have some haggle room.
