Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
As a good friend said” knowing what I know now, I would have got a 2nd gen or a 1st gen if in good conditions, but at the end of the day the freedom in America is what makes it great, so fuck it” and proceeded to down a beer. Cheers!

I did a new Tacoma search for the first time in a year and was surprised to find them cheaper than used ones! Curious if it’s people who overpaid during the pandemic and just want to pay off what they owe. Hoping the used market makes a correction soon, I need a Taco.

Not long ago the general rule when buying new was ‘lose a few grand the minute you drive it off the dealer lot’.

Seems the last year or two it’s drive it off the lot and sell it for a few grand more than you paid for it‘.

Those days are coming to an end. Pass for me.

In 6-8 months, if economy continues as predicted, that truck will be selling for $38K.

    Hard pass.

I have the exact same TRD Off-Road DCSB 4wd with tech package, but brand new 2022, for much less out-the-door including taxes+fees.

Shop. Be willing to drive or even fly somewhere for the right deal.

Every day Toyota dealers piss me off more and more. They act like they're doing you a favor selling you an overpriced truck and then get indignant when you call them on it. That truck isn't just a no, it's a hell no, are you crazy?!

got this email from a "sales consultant" at a dealership known for being the most expensive and most inflexible in the area.
i think things are about to flip.
recession, rising interest rates, inflation, layoffs, new truck...which of these things is not like the others?

Mortgage interest rates and inflation rates have been dropping, new car inventory is picking up and there's not a ton of homes for sale on the market. There's actually a global shortage of homes. Also, with record home and used car values people have more leverage to purchase. I think expensive will be the norm in this economy at least for the next couple of years until interest and inflation rates drop further.

i should have said high (which? just a casual comment) interest rates rather than rising. discretionary income i think is about to sink so over msrp will give way to incentives. we'll see.
