Willing to bet that recall gets expanded too, as there are 2024s that have had engine failures as well on the FB group/forum.

I give it a couple of months before we start hearing about GX 550’s.

100% agree. But details matter. The recall is a “safety” recall for loss of power. They were forced to do it by the govt, no matter what they say. So they had to recall everything not a hybrid, since they still have power to move the truck.

fully expect the recall to expand, but that doesn’t mean all those trucks have or will manifest engine damage. In the same way, 5 taco trucks with trans problems out of 60k doesn’t mean the rest of them will fail too.

In Canada 3yr/60km is the base warranty I upped mine to 4yr /100km. But with these problems Toyota should make the consumer feel more comfortable by offering a better warranty

Dealer is going to let me take it home Saturday morning and drive it for a few hours to make sure I like it and then I can buy it. Put a $500 deposit down to hold it until then

It’s kind of wild that they are valuing the 3rd gen above the 4th… (respective of their original msrps) you’re getting nearly full sticker for a used truck and 10% off a new one. What a time to be alive

True and then what is the value of the 4th gen going to look like if you can buy a new one for the price of a used third gen??? Especially since this is an SR5 to SR5 deal, not like the OP is trading in a Sport OR, or Pro for an SR5

The dealer doesn’t care. They turn a profit selling both trucks.

Who cares about the dealer, but you as the buyer of a 4th gen SR5 may care. Good deal for the OP until next year and he wants to trade it in again and you can get a new one for the same price as a third gen.

Who the F is buying a turd gen above msrp used … some dude just got a pro for 40k… they are giving him 34.5k for an sr5 and they still gotta recondition it and floor plan expense it etc

Someone needs to buy a used 3rd gen sr5 for 40k for them to make money

People have been doing it for years, don’t ask me why. Even back when I bought my ‘21 used trucks were selling at MSRP and higher in some cases.

Ome 887s, dakars, lr uca, sliders, konig countersteer,
So I being a white 2.5 gen would want the dealership to add in that if the paint defects are as bad as the 2nd and 3rd gen super whites are that they will cover the cost to repaint. Check out the super white paint threads on here. I love my super white but the paint issues is annoying. If Toyota will cover them as they are kinda doing the 3rd gens then I'd make that trade esp when you are only paying 2-3k difference... But I'd also look at how much you owe on your 3rd gen..

Curious to see if it passed California emission -- if it's plated in California...
