I hate my leer cap. Though it is a premium cap, fits nice, seals nice, etc. But while driving up the road i can see it vibrating itself to death in my rear view. And you can't tighten it any further because the fiberglass will crack. And the other day one of the sliding windows exploded when it locked into the closed postion. Flimsy, crappy, tempered glass EVERYWHERE. I would want plexiglass or to have the tempered glass tinted with film so it will stay together (for the most part at least) if and when it would break. Also, the sliding windows leak at highway speed in the rain, so....so much for having a dry space back there. If it didn't come on the truck when it was purchased used, i wouldn't have it on there.

The bed vibrates not the cap independent of the bed

I still feel in my head that it wouldn't vibrate as much(the bed), if it wasn't top heavy with 300+lbs of fiberglass to help it wobble.

What I'm telling you is unloaded , these beds will vibrate , add some more weight to the top of that lever and obviously the results will be more apparent

    This.
I thought the same thing when I got my shell. I thought it was just the shell, but when I took it off, I watched my bed. It shakes all the time, even without the shell.

I had a LEER 100R on my Danger Ranger. locks were cheap and I could wiggle window open with little effort. It leaked from every spot you could think of. Leaked from the roof where the Yakima tracks were installed on the roof, every window and where it was supposedly sealed along the bed rails. Cap was year and a half old. Biggest waste of $1500.

My buddy has a SnugTop that is 5 years old and no leaks, no issues with locks nothing. I will be buying one when my bank account recovers from buying my first Taco two weeks ago. SnugTop Rebel with vented windoors and drop down sliding front window. With reinforced roof and some other sportsman luxury extras will run me about $2200 ish from All American SUV. I'm gonna see if the dealer I bought my truck at can get a better deal.

OP, go SnugTop and get the extras it will be well worth the $$$$$$ spent. And Windoors are a must after not having them on my last truck!

I want a cap so bad, but seeing these prices makes me afraid to even call around to get prices. But it's like anything I guess, you get what you pay for. Maybe one will turn up on craigslist and I'll get one :)

Well under 200lbs. My guess was 170 when we picked it up at the dealer just to get a feel for the weight. Not much more than a standard cap. It's honeycombed fiberglass, so pretty lightweight for it's load/strength capacity.

I looked at an ARE at a local dealer with everthing I'm looking for its under 1500.00, about what people said they were paying for theirs.
I just need to sell my Flip-Pac first then I can order it.
    Thanks.

I'm glad your investment has paid off. I am almost wondering if it was an installation issue from the shop I bought it from. Or it could have been because I bought the base model. Not sure either way this time I am spending the extra $$$ for the non base model with all the options. And I like how SnugTop comes down over the bed rails. Less chance for leaks I would imagine.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Snugtop rebel, all features you listed for $1500. No complaints, no vibrating, looks great IMO. I've always used snugtops, however I know they are not available everywhere.
