Now that I have a little girl I need to sell my truck to get something bigger. I really like my tuck, but there is not enough room.

My question is what would be a good price to sell my truck? I ask this question because I have not found any other Tacoma regular cab 4x4 trucks with the SR5 package at local dealerships. It seems that other Tacomas are bringing more than book value in my area. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Truck Specifics
    2008 Regular Tacoma 4x4 SR5 Manual 5 speed
    Miles 30,1xx
Toyota Baja rims, 6K on Goodyear DuraTrac tires (great in snow).
K&N CAI (does this add or hurt the value?)
Maganaflow 18 inch muffler (same queston as above)
    Reese Tow Hitch
    Toyota Bed mat

Truck is in great shape! Only difference from photo is the new Goodyear DuraTracs

Dude your best bet would be to buy a new Tacoma with what you want on it. I k ow you may be on a budget but do consider it and the v6 since a lot of guys seems to regret not getting a v6 right off the bat. In all seriousness though what is your budget? Consider a DC? I would consider with a banby about getting a double cab or an access cab since the back seat is a safer location than up front in an accident especially with the airbag.

I have thought about DC, also a used v6 or V8 4Runner. One other option would be 05 or 06 DC Tundra, but I really like the Tacoma. Just depends on what I sell my truck for.

If it were me, I would either look for a similarly priced 4runner, or spend a little extra and find a decent double cab. Definitely upgrade to V6 though, maybe even V8 if you think you will need it.

Have you tried checking on kbb.com?
Im sure it'll give you a good idea what your truck is worth. Then a cars.com search for similar trucks for sale and take it from there.
The intake and exhaust shouldn't detract or add any value. Wheels n tires, perhaps.

Will do, once I figure it out. It does have a clear title.

It has to have enough room for my wife to sit in the back with my daughter.
I have checked autotrader.com and all of them seem are pre runner regular SR5 tacoma. Plus after 2009 or 2010 I might be wrong, but they dropped the bucket seats and only the bench seat was available not sure how this effects value. Now you cant even get an SR5 regular cab tacoma.

Why not get a Tundra? The mpg is only 2-3 mpg in the Tundra.

I have 3 Tacoma's aqnd a Tundra DC, but the Tundra wins for hauling people. You do have to get used to parking it. It is big. Back up cameras are your friends:)

Not sure where you are, but in NJ, I got $17,500 for my '10 reg cab 4x4. Upgrades were:
    - Mickey Thompson Classic II Wheels
    - 265/75r16 Dynapro ATM Wheels
    - Rear Window Tint (Not Much of An Upgrade But Looked Good)
    - BHLM
    - Bilstein 5100's to Level the Front to the Rear

I sold mine for the same reason you are. I also wanted to pull some cash out of it, so I bought a '90 Toyota Pickup. Couldn't be happier. Of course, it's only me driving it. We use my wife's care for when the whole family goes anywhere.

Hey Tacomapro, bought my 2010 reg. Cab 4x4 SR5 here in Dallas for 19,500 with 13k miles. You were right about the buckets no longer being available and that will help you. Hopefully with some purchase price info. You can get a number in your head that you will take. Best of luck!

Choose a Dbl Cab Tacoma LB if you do alot of hauling/camping. I have a 2yo and a 5yo in their car seat/ booster seats with plenty of room. The 4Runner is nice but lacks the hauling aspect of a truck. The AC Tacoma is not even considered and parking a Tundra is a nightmare and the bed sides are too high to easily remove an item without climbing in the bed. Just get the vehicle that fits your needs but I know from past baby experiences, the Taco has hauled many kid's furniture/bedding/backyard swing sets..etc...you get the idea.

Thanks for all the advice! I really like the DC Tacoma. I know it will not get the same gas milage of my 2.7, but what are you guys getting with your 4.0? Another big decision is which transmission? I enjoy my manual now, but I have heard some say having trouble with the six speed manual in the 1st to 2nd gears? Whats your experiences?

Why don't you take a trip to the dealer and take a new one for a test drive. Get in it and crawl all around it. Sit in the backseat. Give it a real going over. Take it for a ride. Even if you don't plan on buying new, why not? Ask what they would give you on your trade. Who knows if they give a good deal maybe you could go new. If not then you will have a good idea if a double cab will fit the bill and look for a used one. Gas mileage isn't too bad on the v6 automatic. I average around 18 mpg in the summer. Mostly backroads and a little city driving. It drops in the winter to between 15-17 mpg. Some people claim to get even better. I am an average driver. I don't pull out like grandma but I rarely ever push the throttle more than halfway. Hope this helps.

I have been thinking about going to dealer, just hate to waste time if I don't buy. 18mpg is not too bad. I do like the new styling of the interior.

Just wanted to say you're not wasting time going to the dealer if you're not buying new, you are doing research. The more you know before making a purchase the better off you are. Good Luck with the search.
