I recently got rear ended, and the cost to replace all of the LEGO plastic pieces in the rear bumper is $850, by my body guy's estimate.

Is there a decent rear plate bumper available in that range? I looked at relentless and Expedition One, and they are reasonable for what they are, but still $950-1000 with powdercoat.

I would consider going that route if I can get it for around $800 delivered to the body shop... but not sure if Regressive will cover non-OEM parts.

SOS price might be do-able if I can get a decent price from the shop on prep & painting a raw one.

IMO spend the extra money and at least get a bumper that helps with ground clearance or some benefit other than just a powder coated steel replacement. So far I've had my eye on the RCI, CBI, and Mobtowns. All of them offer a functional UPGRADE other that just appearance. Meaning ground clearance, optional tire carrier, built in hidden hitch, optional lighting, etc. Will probably be going with RCI (local) when I decide to replace or when I get rear ended.

Laurens is not too far out of the way if I visit my kids in Asheville on the flip flop. Might be my first ride for the TW Express.

Plus I dig all of the SOS stuff: front bumper, sliders, etc.

    Thanks!

Sounds like this will work out, pending estimate/payout from Regressive.

Depending on damage, that estimate sounds a bit low. Is insurance going to cover it (yours or the person who hit you)? If so, get a couple more estimates and pick the highest one ... maybe even take it to the stealership to give you a quote

Yeah, the Mobtowns are super nice but SOS is driving distance. And I can stop by my son's place in NC to do the install over some beers.

The full estimate was way more than $800. $800 was cost for the bumper parts.

Believe me, we did a very complete estimate after a decent amount of inspection and research.

I personally like the fabfours. I like the old school rear step bumper and can usually find them for around $750 at 4wheelparts with a coupon or one of their frequent sales. That is my go-to if I ever get damage. Just does not work with bsm if you have that.

I ended up going with Mobtown after seeing the CAD and the goods. The engineering and progressive enhancement is evident.

Plug and play plate lights + trailer plug, beefed/angled shackle/mounts, bent vs cut/welded corners, Baja backup light cutout option, etc. SOS is equal IMO, but I was sold on the stock features offered by Mobtown.

These shots were money for me:
