    Hi everyone,

If this is in violation of the rules/guidlines with selling that is entirely unintentional. I'm looking at selling my truck, but I'm not officially putting it up for sale here. I'm wondering if y'all might be able to just give me some thoughts on what you think a fair asking price is given the modifications and things I've done. I have a figure in mind but I want to see what others think.

It's a 2009 Tacoma Access Cab 4WD, 200k miles, manual transmission. It's got a 2" lift, running boards, bed cap and tonneau cover, mudflaps, bull bar, backup camera, and a shift knob I made out of a vintage Miller Lite beer tap handle lol.

What do you think it's worth and what do you think I could ask for it?

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Your best option is to look at what the Same vintage trucks are going for in your local area.

    Lots more pictures !!

Just where has the Truck lived ?

    Engine ??

The cap will add some value but, overall, KBB likely won't be far off. Everything else that adds value to you doesn't really bring much to the table. Perhaps for just the right buyer. You'd likely get more if you sold the cap separately.

Cap is worth only about 1 to 2k on the used market, location and your frame condition determines everything. Manual transmission helps here in SoCal with a perfect rust free frame I’d say that your truck would fetch low to mid 20s and sell same day or same week at the longest

if you’re Midwest or east coast I’d say 15k on high end again depends on your frame and how much rust

Going to be super location dependent.
    - Non-rusty frame, clean title, one owner, non-failing paint? Detailed maintenance history? Because that's the unicorn everyone wants.
    - Cap helps, lift hurts, nerf and bush bars are a wash
    - 200k miles is going to scare some away
    - You should just keep the shift knob as a souvenir, and put a stock(ish) one on

Current market here in the Pacific Northwest is $16-20k private sale.

    A. It's Green!
    B. It has a shell!
    C. 2009 is one of the best years for 2nd gen!

Sell it right after a snowstorm & you'll get more $$. Put it into the local paper & say title in hand. Older guys will see it and that's the audience you want. Get it detailed and show good oil change history. If no rust, then put that into the first two sentences of the pitch. GL with sale!

Thanks for replying y'all! It's lived in the Northeast its whole life, and I'm the second owner. Engine is the stock V6 and I fairly recently replaced the clutch and flywheel. Can take more pictures soon. Also, where do y'all think is the best place/best way to sell it?

Take a look through your local classifieds. Prices will change a little depending on the region. That would be your best bet to guage a listing price. Ultimately you could price it for whatever YOU think its worth but what folks are willing to pay is another story.

Here's the first few 09 access cabs that come up in my area as a reference

I would say around 12 to 15 k.... price it high, you can always go lower, just not typically to go up in price. I'd start at 17k and accept 15 k on a negotiation.
    Why are you selling her?

I'm moving overseas for work, and the hassle and cost to bring it along is just too much.

Ok, then follow the directions above.
Best way to sell, I would put in auto trader, or local classifieds. Maybe even try offer up or Craigslist.

So basically you’ve got no important work done, higher miles than what I got mine at, and ruined it with step bars and bull bar. Probably spacers. And a dark color.
TRD sport and not OR with locker

It may have been a little decent before. And could be.

    max $17k
Which is good news for you
If it was a German vehicle it’d be less than half that and inoperable (as they do)

Many people do not want to work. And then somehow pretend it’s your problem they’re in the DMs offering $5 for something that’s $100 instead of just working and then taking the money earned from work to buy what they want.
So there will probably be a lot of that to ignore with the truck it listing on public markets.

even if $17k is a little high there’s no problem listing it for that amount and gradually knocking the price down bit by bit until it sells. Just depends how fast you need to leave. For example dropping it $500 every two days. Or whatever you feel is right to do.
