    My $.02:
Rivnuts are not high torque fasteners. Meaning that they are made of material that is specifically meant to be bent (during install). The threads are made of that same material so if you torque down on them, the fastener will easily strip the threads. That being said, their use in installing a prinsu rack is justifiable because you aren’t “pulling” the rack away from the truck, on the contrary any weight that you add to the rack is pushing it down and the rivnuts are just there to keep the assembly from sliding off the roof of your truck.
Think of it like those plastic drywall anchors. Sure they’re strong, but they have their limits. More anchors means “more stronger”, but again- within limits.
That being said, recoil forces would put lateral force (shear tension) on the fasteners (bolts), not the rivnuts, so I think you should be good to go. I have no experience with spud guns but can’t inagine they’d rip out all your rivnuts as long as everything is mounted properly.

Worst case scenario, replacing rivnuts is an easy fix. :notsure:

As kids we used to pack them full of spuds soaked in paint thinner and ignite them with starting fluid. Home made :bananadead: launcher. Hypothetically speaking

In testing the best we could do was 1 kilometer. This was a propane and zippo fluid hybrid. It was able to penetrate a 70’s Winnebago from 30’. Lesson for camping with animals. Don’t bang the girl who broke up with the best buddy of the owner of the potatoe cannon an hour ago. That is unless your RV needs more ventilation.

I think the better question should be, how many beers did Mike have before posting this on TW last night?

We all knew this was true, but it doesn't detract from the awesomeness of the idea. Some of my greatest thoughts have come after 1 or 3 too many. I like the tennis-ball idea. Now I want one.

Surprisingly sober. I was at work on the island til 5 this morning. But the beers required to bring this to fruition. That's going to be the staggering number.
