Basically some thin steel channels that connect the lower cross member on the truck to from bumper. I will try to get a picture later.

Stupid question, but I'm asking anyways. You can buy one or the other and still be good to use with the Mid Skid or IFS skid that comes from factory right?

Zach love your stuff man, I'm thinking about just outfitting my whole truck with your products. Its prefect for me and how I use my truck too. Daily driven and sometimes adventure vehicle on the weekends.

 A little on the high side of price for me but I want to see how they perform for others. I still have the stock skid so I am obviously not dropping the truck on boulders but I have hit it a few times. I am rather conscious of the weight I put on since I have a lovely 4 banger.

The MID skid requires the IFS skid in order to install. It hooks to the IFS in the front so without it the MID would be un supported.

Unfortunately thats aluminum for you. I could probably have the same thing cut and bent out of steel for half the price. But then the weight would go up substantially.

First batch is in line at the laser cutter now. Not much else to work out other than to continue with a t-case and gas tank skid option as well. That will probably be down the road a bit though.

Doesn't aluminum have a carosive reaction with steel?

Galvanic corrosion yes. There are plenty of spray on solvents to prevent it and from my experience it hasn't been bad with my roof racks. That is another reason why the skids only attach in a few places and are separated with rubber grommets.
