People with light bars on your racks, How is the glare? I feel that it would be better since the wind deflector probably aims the light off the hood a bit.

I like this rack a lot. My question is, is there a way to put some sort of cage on it. Like a rail system?

    Thanks.

Minutes after this picture i was stuck. I drove in to pick up the kayaks and my dad, so we did not have to paddle a mile around an island. Thank god for my US Offroad hidden winch bumper, my winch, and the pieces of rebar i keep in the bed for a ground anchor. Fun times

Hey guys, I have 2 questions about Zach's rack (looks great by the way). I've been looking through this thread but might have missed it..

1- How much weight can they hold? 200-300lbs+?

2- do regular attachment fit on them? ie: bike racks

    Thanks!

200-300 lbs no problem as long as it is evenly distributed.

Most thule and yakima stuff I have tried will work either straight out of the box or with an adapter from said company. With all the aero type bars out there today from yakima and thule, and their effort to fit many different racks, they have created a pretty universal system. The older components are a little harder to make work but I have still done it.

I have stood on mine (170 lb) to clean the gutters on the garage lol My friend watched me do it and said the bars barely deflected at all

Yeah I can do the same standing on one bar alone with barely any deflection. Stick a board across all 6 bars and a couple people can stand on it.

I put a piece of 3/4 inch plywood on top of cap and cab and set chairs on top of it to watch fireworks. I am 240 my girl is 120 and her son is 180. The rack held fine, I do have the HD cross bars.
