Definitely taller. I tried taking a more straight on shot this time. I also searched online and I can't seem to get a specific answer if the tracks are left / right specific. I've never heard of anyone having issues with the rack sitting flat on the tracks. In my current configuration I wouldn't trust attaching it to the shell. I'll be heading back to the installer tomorrow morning to hopefully get an answer. I've run into a spat of companies recently that can't seem to get things right... my shell is just another one to add to the list.

I can see it now. I would think the taller side should have been on the outside to offset the slope. If it is wrong I hope they make it right.

Hey I had the same issue! I will post some pictures of what I did in the morning when it's light out. Short story long, you have to shim the outside bolt where the foot attaches to the rack. If you install everything as is and tighten everything down, you will pull the tracks up off the shell. @zscott confirmed what I did will work.

What did you actually use to shim the footings? It doesn't look like the shim has any angle to it from your pictures.

Looks like you could use a bevel washer to fix it

Went back and looked at your pictures. I can faintly see the washers stacked under the shim plate and footing from the rack. Unfortunately I do not have any of those same shim plates that came with my rack, and I would prefer not have washers between the mounting surface if I can help it (will be sleeping on top of the shell). I spoke with the leer dealer where my shell was installed and he took photos to send to Leer for clarification. I would flip the tracks myself, but the factory stripped all of the threads on the Philips screws for the tracks making it impossible to get them out without drilling the centers. Hopefully have an idea on how to proceed Monday. What a pain in my ass this is.

Edit: I posted in the 2016 shell pics for a better idea on how these come from the factory. Post 1410 shows the opposite of what I have: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2016-shell-pics.399254/page-71

Interesting. I totally missed the part where your tracks were switched. My tracks are the same height left to right which is why I had to shim. Yours look like a pretty good solution if they are installed the right way!

I do the second option. Measured out where the bars need to sit, use the tent hardware to mount them to the bars and then, with the help of my brother, heave the thing onto the rear rack and bolt on the bars to the rack with the end screws.. 8 bolts, 2 and a half minutes and you're done. I even store the tent in the garage with the bars on them. Tent is ALWAYS ready to go.

I'm at six weeks. Zach says he's just waiting on a part I had requested in a custom colour. Keeping my fingers crossed that it comes in this week.

That's what I'm hearing too. I'm only at the three week mark but mine were coated in last week's batch as well. Based on the forum talk, it sounds like he's just now able to fulfill orders placed since the first of the year? Obviously there are quite a few orders to box up and ship ahead of mine but the four week lead time still sounds accurate for me at least. :fingerscrossed:
