    Ya, good idea.
Was thinking of tackling drilling holes in my crossbars like the frontrunner racks so i can add or remove hardware as needed.
Know of anyone that has tried it yet and any tips for perfect results?

Somewhere within the 300 pages of this thread, someone did it. If I remember correctly they used a stepped bit on a drill press.

    Ya, thought so.
That sounds like the way to do it for sure.

Has anyone mounted a Cali raises 42" slim light bar in the fairing cutout?

People have told me there none because the light is so low profile to the rack where there is little to none wind disruption.

How do you avoid damaging the kayak with this setup? It seems like if you ran the bolt from the rack upwards, the protruding bolt and whatever nut you used would extend beyond the little platform that the side of the kayak rests on ...

Looks great but does it fit in the cutout? That's just on top of the wind fairing.

Gotcha, so using the hand knobs that they come with is pretty much out of the question.

Yes I have seen both 40" dual rows and 40" single row on these racks!

Is that as low as the shield will go? Any noise with it where it is?

For either the double or the single are this just mounted with whats in the box from Cali-Raised? Or do i need to find a different mounting bracket. I am going to go Cali-Raised for my light bar!!

It's pretty low profile which in return makes no much wind noise

To be honest I am not positive, since I don't have one my self but looking at the pictures it looks like they just used the brackets provided.

Thats my truck and I can say I don't experience any wind noise a low speeds and minimal at highway (extremely minimal).

Still love this rack. One of the best additions to the truck. Some pictures from the last outing..

Oh.. and that's a 42" shoved in there. ;) Just have to trim the deflector a little bit, enlarging the cutout... and then figure out mounts. I had to make my own to get it to sit exactly where I wanted.

A lot of work.. but all so worth it for a clean look.
