Ehh.. don't feel nervous. These things are worth it. Just order far enough in advance that you have time to wait.

Buying Thule is always an option. You will certainly get it quicker. But you are gonna be disappointed every time you see a Prinsu rack. To me, this wait has been rough. It is like waiting for a Christmas that keeps getting delayed. But it is well worth it for how these things look. IMHO.

Oh indeed. It's more of a necessity deal. I need a rack for transport kayaks for fishing, sooner than later. I can deal with 4, 8 weeks most. But what I can't afford is to wrap up that much money, have 8 weeks come, and then have to shell out another $400 for another rack because the prinsu is no where to be found.

Thus the email with some questions. Sounds like a nice, but busy guy.

My wait was almost exactly 4 weeks and i didnt order from the GB. i got the rack on and after that point, forgot about how long it took! Ive still got 5 weeks left on my BAMF sliders order which was quoted at 12 weeks and my suspension was delayed 4 weeks as well. The trick is to order parts all the time so there is constant deliveries to your place. Makes waiting easier IMO.

Easy when you live in the states. Not everyone will ship internationally. As a result I have to coordinate shipments to arrive together or else spend a small fortune in gas to pick everything up as it arrives.

I've ordered my doublecab OR, and am now building a wish list and this rack is at the top. I'm having a hard time figuring out the following and wouldn't mind some suggestions, as my plan is to transport a 13.5' raft (http://www.stealthcraftboats.com/?page_id=1108) using this raft:

    - I'm having a hard time finding the width of the prinsu, the width of the raft is 51", but the tubes are round at the edge, so it's not a full 51". What's the edge to edge width?
    - Are the bars flush with the top of the side panels?
    - On a thule or yakima rack, the cross bars hang so I can wrap a strap around them to secure stuff. I'm thinking that the raft will possible extend off the edges, so any suggestions on how to secure it? I'm thinking maybe circle bolts through the side plates to hook a strap in or through.
    - I'm also interested in the light bar, but does it sit lower than the bars the raft would be sitting on? In the case of having the lights on, i"m worried they'd get hot (do they?) and damage the raft.

Any suggestions would be great. I have none of this stuff in hand yet (tacoma or raft), but I like the scheming how to do this.

You should be in great shape... the bars are (I believe) 47", and add a bit more for the width of the rails. For a raft, you may want to put some sort of weather stripping (or even something like a door edge guard) so you don't puncture your raft on the somewhat straight edge of the side rails. Prinsu will work great for this raft though!

Thanks for the comments guys. I didn't realize tie down bolts come with it, and I assume I can add those to the outsides of the side rails. The anticipated light bar would be the one Prinsu sells (my hope is to jump on a group buy by the end of the year). From pictures it looked like the light bar they sell could be installed so that the top of it sat slightly lower than the first bar, but wasn't sure. I also have on my to-do slash wish-list to put a couple of short (10" maybe?) light bars facing rearward to illuminate the bed. I dont' anticipate either being on for long with the raft on top. Long enough to set up a campsite in the dark, or load up after a fishing drift.

I'll keep in mind about the weather stripping on the side rails. The raft is designed to go over rocks in a river, so I might be ok with it being somewhat puncture resistant, but can't hurt to be a little preventative.

...I guess people will start asking if you can be the coordinator for communication with Zach.... I can wait but at the same time I also hope for a delivery date.... It is worth to wait I can understand that, but I certainly hope he can also start looking into expand the business. It is a great product, and I think it is totally worth to move into the mass production in US.

Anyone mount a RTT to their rack? If so how does it hold up with the weight capacity?

Rack is 47 1/4" wide. Crossbars sit right at 1/8" lower than the side plates.

Light mounts are adjustable so you would have some flexibility there.

Wasn't sure if the something changed with the fairing or not..

Put in my order for a cab rack April 14th. I PM'd Zach and he got right back to me on TW In no time. Seems like that's the better route instead of the business email.

I'm very excited. Hope it comes in soon!
