See above, that's why I expect they are run in batches, you and I ordered a month apart and I bet ours are in the same batch.

Sweet. Hopefully that's the case. Was told 4 weeks. Then on may 17th I was told it's be shipping later that week. Then on may 30th I was told I'd have a shipping notice the 31st or 1st. Keep me posted if any other news comes up please. Much appreciated.

I'm at about 5. 4Runner rack though. Hoping I'm in that batch as well! Haha

Best of luck. Hope no one gets this twisted. I really am looking forward to getting my rack and have nothing against zack / prinsu. Just patiently waiting and trying to plan the rest of my spring. Big fishing trips. I work 3rd shift and an insane amount of hours. This rack will help me make the most out of my limited personal time.

Yeah I'm not in a rush at all. Just don't have a bunch of free weekends so if I don't install soon, it will sit for the whole summer.

So is the final verdict a 1-2 MPG drop with the cabrac? I don't have an RTT or bedrac if that is worth anything. I'm on the fence, but my daily commute can't take another few mpg drop.

I think you need to ask yourself the question of 'why are you wanting/needing the rack?'. Based on your statement that your daily commute can't take another 1-2 MPG drop tells me that money/affordability is the sticking point. With that said and if you assume a worst case of a 2 MPG hit (which IMO is absurd as its more like 0.5 MPG tops), you are looking at 40 miles less per tank. At 16 MPG (again absurd as its more like 18-19 MPG but looking at a worst case) this equates to 1.5 gallons and at $3 a gallon that is an extra $4.50 per tank of gas. Lets say you fill up once a week, that means you'd be spending $234 extra per year for gas due to the MPG hit from the rack. That said, if you cannot afford $234 extra per year (or $4.50 per week) for gas, how is it that you think you can afford a $500 rack?? Back to the original question I suggested you should ask yourself, if there is no pressing reason why you absolutely require a rack then it sounds like the rack is unaffordable.

Fair points. I wouldn't say money is tight, just that I would rather spend it on other things...like mountain bikes and loose women...than gas for commuting hence the mileage question, but your math seems to dispel that aspect. Thanks for the reality check.

That's a little disheartening. I ordered April 17, specifically asking before I ordered if I could expect delivery by June as I have a 2 week, cross country trip coming up on the 14. I emailed him last Thursday (the 1st) checking on the status. He told me it would ship in the next day or two and be here by the end of the week (presumably today). But I have yet to even receive a shipping notice. Its kind of stressing me out, as I was relying on the rack to carry half of the gear I need for me and two others for this trip.

I ordered April 14th. Been told twice it's be shipping out in a few days. The first time being may 17th. The last time being 9 days ago. I also asked about lead time because it's time sensitive for me too, and was told 4 weeks. And now I have radio silence from Zach since the last "ship in a few days" update over a week ago.

Having ordered from Zach before, you'll be fine. Everyone needs to understand that hes probably got new orders everyday, and other people he relies on to complete orders. No offense, but everyone who orders knows these take time, and coming on here and venting just doesn't speed up the process unfortunately.

No offense, but I don't need to understand anything. 5 weeks past a 4 week lead time, 2 times being told about delivery without an actual notice. He is a business. I specified that I can only order if I knew the rough time line (I was told 4, figured it's be 6 weeks). I have a trip the 17th. I expressed that so I could decide to order , or to get some other set up to hold me over until I can order a prinsu rack later on.

I really don't care what his reasoning is. And I don't think anyone is under the assumption that we can speed things up. I'm trying to find out if anyone is hearing anything from him because twice now I've been told it's on it's way, and now I can't even get a response on what's going on.

I like Zach too and he makes an awesome product, but it's totally reasonable for people to be upset if they were told it's shipping soon and it hasn't yet.

Same. My first rack was on time and great. I knew he was having lead time issues so I didn't have a super big expectation for when I'd get my rack so I'm not upset if it goes a little over. I also am lucky enough to have a roof rack to hold me over. If I didn't already have one, I'd be more impatient

Not cranky. Don't dislike Zach one bit. I am really excited to run this rack. This is 100% not personal and I'm not degrading Zach at all. Just trying to find out details from others who have ordered. As an example, someone who ordered days later than me is getting getting theirs delivered Sunday.

These are my thoughts exactly, my trip starts the 14th though. Now I'm thinking about going to harbor freight or something and getting one of those platforms for the receiver hitch. Or maybe some clip on bars and a cheap roof basket, but I dont know where or if I can get those locally. His product looked great, and I wanted the best, and I ordered a whole 2 months ahead of when I would need it. But If I had known it wouldn't show up in time, I would of saved my money and went with something else in the interim.

Ordered mine March 5. Received everything I needed by June 1st. But it was worth the wait.
