Ya.. looks like I'll get a prinsu. Is there a consensus on prinsu quality and consistency after CBI took over? I heard both good and bad.

This is true, my oem rack was trash. Mostly plastic and a huge waste of money

Same quality products the only thing is it seems they may have gotten a version of the plans where the wind fairing cross bar holes don't line up. Hopefully this is getting corrected though.

This is a cross post from another forum ... need suggestions

I’ve got a set of Prinsu racks ordered for my 2016 DCDB. I’m looking at the ARE DCU canopies - I like the side access doors, the weight, and the utilitarian look of this set up.

My only issue is this - how do I mount the Prinsu rack on the bed height DCU shell. Unlike the other ARE shells (Overland and CX) there does not appear to be a rail system. Perhaps I’m wrong.

Has anybody done this combo ?

Is this just a silly noob plan that I should avoid ?

You can always add the rails yourself. Now whether or not you want to drill a bunch of holes in the roof is another story.

Trying to avoid drilling the rood the shell - anybody know what ARE shell allows easy no-drill mounting of the Prinsu racks ?

Yeah all racks have to be drilled through. No way around it.

Received mine 2 days after expected due date with all parts and no mistakes. It was fairly easy to install and the quality is second to none. I can see it lasting for years without an issue. Make the jump to buy, be patient and you will not be disappointed. Great product now the only problem is which LED lightbar to buy.

The noise on the road from the Prinsu fairing with the 40" cutout is killing me but what is worse is the cost of a decent LED lightbar and the fact that it is more than the Prinsu rack all together. I am so torn on putting on a lightbar or making an custom fairing extension that will connect to the first bar so when I do decide to purchase a bar the cost may have come down some. Or do I just work another Saturday and buck up and buy a decent Lightbar and not tell the wifeeee.

Is your fairing set to the lowest setting?

    Lots of sail boat fuel
Prinsu takes the cake for $/weight rating. Oem and thule just don't have the strength and cost as much. Front runners are more expensive.

And I'm not sure how much the Dissent racks go for. But I think Prinsu and Dissent look the best IMO, and that counts for something too at these price points.

A single row light bar is like $100 on Amazon. I've had great experiences with amazon special light bars.

Anyone using the Prinsu awning bracket? Looking for a picture how you mounted the bracket and awning. Appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thanks

Thinking about going ahead and ordering a roof rack. How have the lead times been lately?

It's still hit or miss, but it's getting consistently better with shorter lead times. If I was in the market, I'd get one.

Good to hear. I ordered my rock sliders from CBI about 3 weeks ago and had them in my garage a week and a half after the order date. So I have no issues with CBI from my experience. Glad to hear they're getting the whole lead time thing under control with these racks. Been seeing a lot of folks with bad tastes in their mouth lately dealing with them.
