So here’s the deal. I fell on an 800 dollar gift card from an airline unexpectedly by volunteering to take a different flight. Thank god a new truck mod is in the picture and wife can’t say shit.

What would you do? Looking at pulling the trigger on a Prinsu cab rack but the install is a concern. How easy? Specifically cutting the rubber trims and re attaching. Any tips or advise for a fairly non mechanical guy? Also any pics of what you would do first like awning, trax whatever. Just need help pushing me over the edge and geared up to tackle the instal.

YouTube. There are at a minimum 4-5 install videos. I’m being conservative as there are probably tons more. They go step by step and show how to cut, where to cut, and what to use to seal with.

It’s easy to install. Like super easy. Buy a 3/4” punch and some silicone and it clips right back in

But what’s the best way to make the cut. Isn’t there a metal strip inside the rubber?

Yes, I just used a 3/4” hole punch. Do not drill it out or the molding will get chewed up. I then used a rotary tool sander to clean it up a bit.

You mean you didn’t cut a section out at all? I thought the hole punch was just to break through the tape stuff under the rubber trim. Sounds like you new where the holes are and just made little holes in the rubber trim. Even with the metal part in the middle of the rubber? Sorry all the videos I saw cut a section out of the rubber trim.

Yup. I look the molding off and measured out where the holes were and punched them out.
