Hey Everyone. I have searched for this topic on this site as well as google and I didn't see anything really comparing the two racks. I found a couple rack threads but nothing when people were comparing the two. So I thought I would post the question here. If there is a thread on comparing these two please let me know the link to it and I will read it.

I want to get a roof rack for my '08 double cab tacoma and have come to a standstill on these two racks. I also considered the baja for a moment. I eventually also what to add an LED strip light on the front of it and two small ones on the back of the rack. I do a lot of hunting in the Florida swamps with my truck so corrosion resistance is a plus.

Can y'all recommend which one you prefer or find better for what I want? And also which one has less wind noise. FYI....I don't really have any other MODS that cause any wind noise with exception to all terrain tires.

    Thank you all!

My vote is for prinsu. No experience with either, I just think the prinsu looks better/more aerodynamic and its cheaper. Curious to see a comparison!

I looked at both and both are great racks. I ended up going with FrontRunner because of the shear amount of additions you can add to it and I like the look a little bit better. The exposed bolts on the Prinsu just didn't appeal to me. The way the FrontRunner is made there is absolutely no wind noise at all which was surprising. I think either one you pick you will be happy with. It all comes down to which one "you" like most.

If you want a comparison with a Prinsu rack hit up @DoorDing he has one and can fill you in on the pros of that rack. His set up is pretty nice.

My vote goes for the Frontrunner based purely off aesthetics. I don't like how modular the Prinsu looks once put together compared to the Frontrunner.

One thing I like about the Frontrunner which I don't think you can do with the Prinsu is mount stuff underneath the rack like a camp table or solar panel slide/storage.

There are also tons of accessories available for the Frontrunner. I'm pretty sure most of the mounts they sell will also work with the Prinsu though.

Like RVM said, you really can't go wrong with either.

Thank you to all you have responded so far! They both have different looks to them but the both look great! Thank you for sharing the pictures! Which accessories do you guys use with the Prinsu rack? I know they don't have their own line the Front Runner does so I was just trying to compare apples to apples on these rigs.

I've seen both can have LEDs installed on them. I am coming to understand as most of you are saying....you can't go wrong with either. Ahh...I'm bout to flip a coin! Lol.

    Thank you,
    Tom

Yeah man... In reality you can't go wrong with either one. Yes you can mount something beneath the FrontRunner though I "personally" don't think that is a selling point. Like I said before... It really boils down to which one "you" like the most. Both are great.

My friend has a front runner on his 4Runner and regrets it. The prinsu rack is designed to go to the edge of the windshield and the front runner sits back, so there is less usable space on the front runner. He fit his RTT but can't fit his front runner jerry can mount because he is a few inches short.

Is this accurate? Is there not t-slots on the bottom as well? As mentioned here, there might not be a lot of space but the option is still there?

I'm not sure about the T-slots. The front windscreen on the Prinsu also prevents you from mounting anything underneath that you could slide out the front.

I ended up going with a Frontrunner myself. couldn't be happier.
