I don't do any serious off roading but I do tend to go out into the wilderness when I'm hunting, so my original idea was to be able to carry a spare tire on the roof rack along with some tools (shovels, etc..). I love the look of the rack, the wind noise is noticable even with their "wind kit".. Its worse with the lightbar cut out.. What I find most annoying is that the rack also causes a wind draft. When I'm driving down the highway and 65+, i can feel the truck drag and there is a gust of wind, it really grabs onto the rack.

I've removed the rack and of course the wind noise is gone and I don't feel the wind drag anymore (or at least as much).

I'm still 50/50 on keeping the rack...

I have to say I feel no wind drag or any other effect from the rack while driving. None, I don’t even no it’s there.
Now if I mount a cooler or tire up there yeah I can see why that could happen.
I mostly have fishing rods, kayak paddles, flat lumber up there so it tends to be more aerodynamic…
Another + I’ve since found is the handles are kind of comfortable to grab on to when I’m driving.
I just found myself with my arm out the window holding on to it one day..

I put mine on in 2020 and never really noticed a difference, but I’m always on the phone or listening to the Radio, so I’m not sure i would notice it unless it was substantially different…6D03137E-68C8-4724-9256-2697183838C6.jpg

I added a extra 2 inches to the Prinsu valance. It pushes the air above trailing rails. Makes driving around town more pleasant. Does get noisy around 65-70 MPH.

I didn't notice any road noise until I added the pelican case. Also in the summer I will be adding a pvc shower that I built. And plan to put either traction boards or solar panel (not sure yet). I assuming wind noise will get much louder. As for function, awesome rack. I love mine.

From my experience the front trim is very important. Without it there was tons of wind noise but with it it is not bad at all.

Wind noise with kayaks is pretty bad on the other hand.

Like your kayak setup. What is the black cover on the kayak? Wind deflector?

It’s a normal kayak cover, we keep the fishing rods and paddles inside the kayak. Probabky helps with wind too.

I havnt noticed alot of noise even with the lights awning and gear boxes. Don't get me Wong it's there but negligible. However the failing finish on a rack that's under a year old is well embarrassing. Corrosion all over the rack waiting on an update on the warranty claim......

What light bar are you running? light bracket? Is it flush with the x-bars?

That looks like a cali raised bar/bracket, if not they could be the prinsu mounts aswell.

If you get creative you can mount them super low and flush.

    Cali Raised bar. Prinsu mount.

I meant to do a little adjusting as the light is a bit higher angle then I would prefer but never got around to doing it. I'll be honest, I don't use the light all that much so I don't have heartburn over fixing the angle.

I hear ya there, roof mounted bars look cool but I'm lucky if mine gets 20 hours of run time a year. Ditch lights on the other hand get used alot

Wind noise for mine wasn't too bad but I'd caution against it if you live in the colder regions of the country. The hardware corrosion on mine was terrible and Prinsu offered zero customer support.

This might not be the right thread to ask but I’m making a solar panel mount bracket and don’t have a Prinsu rack. I wanted to verify with Prinsu owners on the measurements of the cross bars. Do your Prinsu cross bars match this?
