I'm pretty sure I'm going for the Prinsu DC Roof tray - the only question is what I should do about lighting. I was reading a thread that said light bars aren't the best place to start if you're only going to do one lighting element (due to light reflection off the hood), so I'm thinking about maybe doing a cheaper light bar behind the grill? Anyone have any thoughts? Is that true about the light bar? It would be a lot cheaper to buy a rack without it but hard to go back if I change my mind. My use is mostly offload camping, not crawling at night or anything.

Also, it looks like there are sometimes Prinsu discounts on here - does anyone know if there's a current deal?

    THANK YOU!!!!!!

I had a light bar up there and then took it off a month later. It had a gnarly glare from my hood (Truck is white) and in the end was more harmful than useful. Ended up with the grille light bar which is way better for my set up.

Having the cut out is no big deal, but I think I'd go with the non-cut out version if I did it over again.

Its by far easier to find a person on any number of forums/social media with a full panel wanting a cutout panel that you can swap with than the opposite case.

I'd look on TruckBrigade first. They've treated me well.

    As a first light, I wouldn't recommend a 40" roof bar.

Glare being one reason, but that can be mitigated fairly easily on Prinsus.
Also, a large roof bar is could/should be lensed for distance, not for up close.
Also Also, Its A TON of light but unless you spend major dollars, its all or nothing. No level 1-2-3 or similar.

Having a pair of fog replacements, maybe some extra pods on the A pillars, bar behind the grille, what have you, will allow you to add on lumens for less money in each stage, and also allow you to tier your lighting to suit the occasion.

But you can buy a 50" lightbar from ebay for $150..
Light projection is especially important for trucks, since owners use their trucks as daily drivers, off-road vehicles, and work vehicles, making visibility extremely important.

Just paid $707.93 with their 10% Black Friday deal. Ask them, I bet they would still offer the discount.
