I have to say I love the sleekness of the Prinsu rack, but I have a few issues with it
    1) 6" Lift on 35s
    2) KC Pro6 Grav Light Bar
    20220613_094524.jpg
    3) Price (Yes buy once cry once)
    4) A "Decked" Platform under a camper

    5) Roll overs....which I've been in a couple....everything on the roof is screwed.....then if you arent able to salavge off what you can becuase of insurance taking the vehicle you're loosing that much more or vice-versa you buy your rig back, you now have a complicated system to undo. I've been in both scenarios and it sucks, especially when they dont cover your aftermarket goodies

I will say that I am a fan of the versitility, I am just hesitant for what I see as cons. If money was no option then I would get the Prinsu Camper Shell Rack for the rear and the KC M-Rack for the front to be compatible with my light system.

Where I am contradicting myself is in my experience. I have deployed multiple times in combat zones where we load down trucks and do long range mobility through crazy terrain or live out of trucks for days on end, I've also gone through a professional course with Cameron Advanced Mobility where we had former American Team-Camel Trophy Racers and Mid-Class Pre Runner Drivers/Ultimate outdoorsman showing me their approach to this sort of thing. The train of thought at CAM was only items so large such as their CRUX bridging ladders should ever go up top....that or disposible items like firewood...wood suck if you lost it but not the end of the world (Dad Joke).

And as you can see with this pic of a Camel Trophy rig they can speak from extensive experience

On one hand you shouldnt load down your life with everything under the sun....on the other you have no choice becuase now its your life on the line versus comfort.

I'm spitting a few ideas out and want some feedback from you guys:

    1. Thoughts on mounting (2) 10ft bars of 1/4" Super Strut??.....this would be a super low pro roof rack that is still weight bearing but also adjustable. I would then take pieces of flat iron and bolt them to the top with neoprene wedges spaced out intermittenly on the paint side of the cab. Im wanting to be able to mount a couple of non essential items but also clear my garage/parking garages (Currently only have 3-6" of wiggle room)

    2. What do you haul up top 24/7?....Whats that stuffs purpose?
    3. What do you haul up top on YOUR typical expedition?....Whats that stuffs purpose?

    ***For those anti-roof-rackers***
    4. What do you run instead of a roof rack when your bedspace is taken up?

Just a few DIY ideas on "the drawing board"
Top Left: Brush Wire inspired by thr Camel Trophy Trucks.....limbs smacking the windshield are a real thing in the Carolina Woods...replaced glass as a kid (Pic-2 with my HS '93 P/U...RIP Uncle Billy) never again do I want to do that!
Top Right: My SuperStrut obsession...came from the pics of my black tacoma when I made my own bedrails using Strut, Super Strut Spring Nuts, and drilling out Tacoma Camper Shell Clamps to keep everything torqued down. Plan is to get 13/16" Strut and use that down the roofs seal lines and bolt directly into the OEM roof rack holes. Bottom Left is a water tank (Whole reason for the rack project) Then Bottom Right will be my DIY plan fpr fuel mounts to keep Gas "outside of the hotel room"

RTT Mounted via super strut on my old 2010

RTT in use on an expedition.....also the reason I decided to design a decked system under a camper with a compact mattress set up.....ease of use/packability.....this trip was gun but made it apparent that an RTT isn't my style.....over the top would have been expensive to mount and cut on MPGs (Drove from NC to PCB, FL and back for this expedition)......flush with the cab was neat but I had virtually no bed....then had to air out the tent after heavy rain.....not ideal for my uses.

No matter what COA I go with....my ultimate goal is a 24/7 paid-for-hotelroom-enough set up to pullover on the side of the road and get a nap in, next to my glock.....and then to have an elevated/enclosed set up to take the wife out overlanding.....she doesnt do bugs/bears haha (This thing is "totally bear proof babe")
