What’s the problem? Online shopping software uses estimated tax based on zip code which is then corrected during payment processing. It’s not uncommon for websites to show taxes for me because the city nearby with the same zip code has a sales tax while I live in unincorporated land with no sales tax.

Just buy from the site with the cheaper total cost then. It's a $100 difference even if they adjusted their sales tax.

Buy from Truck brigade, free shipping and should be no tax, depending on your state.

If you make an account you’ll get a 5% off coupon too.

If you're buying the exact same product, then I would go with the cheaper option. If you really must buy from Prinsu for some reason, then that's up to you. You could try calling them. Also, I'm not sure how long it's been since you emailed them, but some places take over 24 hours before you get a response.

    minor tweaks
There was some recent news coverage about special taxes districts that have been popping up and are approved by some municipalities, they allow the developer of an area to collect a special tax to be collected by the stores in the developer's "special tax zone"usally about 1/2% of the total sale. THe examples were chain stores, malls and similar businesses but if they figure out they can do it there, what's to stop them other places.

These days the trick is to get consumers $$ with add-on fees, small monthly charges and other seemingly benign costs that don't usually raise the red flags. This probably is just another one of those. I try not to buy from places that have these special taxes if it's possible, buying into it their scheme just condones the practice.

Prinsu over charges period. Buy a Martin OffRoad rack. It's like the prinsu, but half the price.

Maybe, or Sherpa isn’t showing the right amount and will end up charging more when processing your payment. The answer to your question is simple - look up your local and state sales tax rates and do the math.

This forum is becoming just as dumb as the Facebook group.

    Call them and ask?

Makes way more sense than whining in here?
