    Hey guys,

I just installed my Prinsu Top Rack on my ARE CX REVO w/ Rhino Rack tracks & noticed an issue this morning. It seems as if the rack brackets are causing the tracks to pull up from the shell (pictured below). I did some digging & some people used the below Sherpa or Smittybilt brackets, but it seems their issues wasn't the track pulling up but moreso that the bracket had a gap from the tracks to rack. Any ideas or tips on which route I should go before I spend more $$$ on brackets I don't need?

I tried to loosen all of the bolts/nuts from the bracket to rack & bracket to track then tighten the track bracket first but it had no luck, I even tried to add spacer washers to the track bracket portion as well. It also seems that the bolt may be too long since it's leaving marks on the tracks.

I am also pretty sure my rack style would be considered the flat style and not the contoured?FIBq9cYzSJFyFktuSZamCL1R9Qs_a0ESeHnBXOSa_f636ab9aa7550763bc5d31c39a080f71a876778f.jpg

It's because your rack is FLAT and the Shell and rails are contoured. So when you tighten the rack is trying to also straighten the contour so it's pulling up your rails to force them to be straight.

I had the same issue one my rack. I tightened mine until things were snug, then gave them a half turn. I carried a RTT on a two week road trip and had no issues with it slipping.

Can anyone tell me the distance between the factory installed roof tracks on an A.R.E. Camper shell?

Looking at the OP's first picture, it appears that he has 6 cross bars on his Prinsu rack. That means that it's the model for the short bed, and that model has 4 mounting feet (rather than the 6 mounting feet for the long bed). With 4 mounting feet you don't have the curvature problem that you do with 6 feet.
That's the likeliest explanation. Try the next shorter length of bolts. Or, add washers between the brackets (feet) and the tracks.

    It's complicated.
Funny how people continue to have this issue and the solution from Prinsu/CBI is to stack lots of washers! How damned ignorant they are about advising buyers to this very known issue.

Let me save you A LOT of aggravation, because Prinsu/CBI won't help: get in touch with Sherpa Equipment Company and buy their "adjustable track mounting feet."

    https://sherpaequipmentco.com/collections/components/products/adjustable-track-mounting-feet

I have their Crows Nest rack on top of my A.R.E. MX canopy; these are the mounts that work for both. The mounting feet are adjustable and conform to the curve of the canopy--without the need to stack washers.

BTW, Sherpa is great to work with, and they actually answer their phone & emails.

Just ordered an A.R.E. CX Revo. Contour may be different from your MX, but do you know whether you bought the flat or the contoured feet?
