I agree with you about the regular air dam. I have since added a single row light bar since I posted that pic though. I put off installing one forever, and finally got around to it.

I was between the Prinsu and the Alpha rack as well, and kept going back and fourth. In the end I went with the Prinsu due to it being less bulky and fitting my needs. That being said, Uptop is a solid company with solid products, so I ended up purchasing the Prinsu add on panels with the handles which will be installed at some point here soon. Might as well support both companies.

I believe that the Bravo is already Sunroof compatible. I have the Alpha and this is the kit they sent for my sunroof. You can’t stand up in it, But you can tilt and open it. Maybe you can get some 8020 aluminum and figure out how to make that opening better and works for you.

it might be strong enough still if you do something like this. Getting longer struts for the sides and moving the bar to just behind the window, that will give you a unobstructed window. Not sure about the strength. That would be an UpTOP engineer question. This idea would probably take a redesign as to where the load bar mounting slots are located

Can anyone comment on the wind noise of prinsu vs uptop and on mpg effect from either rack.

Here is my solution for my Alpha:
It really irritated me having the 2nd load bar cutting across the middle of the sunroof so I modified it by:
Moving the 2nd bar to the most forward position next to the 1st load bar. To structurally reinforce the rack since there are no load bars in position 2 and 3 I purchased an extra load bar and installed it longitudinally (front to rear) between position 1 and 4 (see pic in my post.) The extra load bar I cut to fit and also cut the skinnier support bar to fit (from the fresh air option) for even more added structural integrity. Had to buy extra L brackets.
Happy the way it turned out, it feels really strong/robust and with two load bars right next to each other I now have even more surface area at the very front of the rack just behind the light bar to spread and support the load I put on it.
Best part about it is I can open my sunroof all the way without obstruction and stick my head through it:D.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I got an UpTop Bravo and while I do like it a lot, it mounts to the roof with two feet on each side. I believe the prinsu has three mounting spots on each side. Personally I'd like the third mounting point on each side for a more secure connection to the truck.

Wow you're right. I never noticed this. Can anyone from @upTOPoverland comment on whether or not this affects the load capacity?

Here is a Prinsu with the Uptop Overland AAP. Both installs are up on my channel, incase you want to check them out. Nothing but good reviews from me for both companies. I wanted the sleekness/tightness of the Prinsu and the side look/handles of Uptop Overland so that got me here. I think the Uptop racks look sick and are well made, just a little bulky for my style preference. Both are solid companies with great products.

one M6 bolt is not going to make a major difference. other companies love to tout this but the reality is the difference is negligible. Our racks, 2021+, now use a steel foot which far exceeds the strength of the actual roof itself. if i thought the tacoma could take it, i'd pick my truck up from the rack with a crane just to prove it.

Has anyone tried putting prinsu load panels on the uptop rack? If so did the load panels slide very easily.

I just installed a bravo roof rack on my Tacoma . I chose uptop over prinsu because you get a better bang for your buck IMO.
