I trimmed about 1/2" on both sides of the fairing, not really noticeable from 5+ft away.

Coming from a auto detailer..... that is the fastest way to get swirls in your paint. Use the touchless system then follow up wotu micro fiber and detailer spray .

Can you post pictures on how you trimmed the rack to fit that 42" bar? I think I want to buy the same one but want to make see how you did it first. Thanks

Here is one side, but you get the idea. It’s a sloppy cut, but all I had at the time was a dremel.

@monkeyevil will the long bed cap rack have 3 mounting feet on each side or only 2 like pictured on the short bed?

Nope, the 2 is enough for the longbed as well.

Maybe someone can help me understand. I'm trying to compare these two light bars. Victory's says it's a 40" and Cali Raised says 42" but the dimensions of the Cali Raised appear to actually be shorter in length... I'm confused. I'd rather not trim my rack if I don't have to.

I just installed the Victory 4x4 Roof rack. Assembly was easy, installation was easy as well. I did not have any help to put it on the roof, but it was light enough to lift onto the roof by myself without any damage to the roof.

Quality is pretty good. Very solid. Powdercoating is consistant. I did replace the flat washers with lock washers, since I didnt use any lock-tite. (I may go back and lock-tite everything if I notice anything loosening up)

I think the only issue I saw (painful one) was that they did not deburr the edges from where the shapes were lasered. This resulted is a pretty nasty gash in my left thumb. I still dont know what to do about it. I come from a manufacturing background, and so seeing this was a bit disappointing. Removing the burr's would also remove the black powdercoat. I dont want to do that...

Below are pictures of it installed on my truck.

I also installed a Victory 4x4 rack recently and my experience was a mixed bag.

    The Pros:
    - Better all in price than Prinsu (everything is included)
    - In my opinion, a little better looking rack
    - customer service was very responsive
    - even includes the wind molding although that wasn't mentioned.
    - I found additional wind noise to be nearly non-existent, it's there but barely
    - no noticable decrease in mileage for me

    The Cons:
    - overall qa needs improvement
    * the de-burr issue pre powdercoat is a big deal in my opinion and is the only con that had me reconsidering my purchase.
    * one of my mounts was bent in production and needed replaced, never should have made it to PC, as it was pretty obviously a misalignment when being bent.
    * my kit was shipped without the proper hold down washers, I locally sourced them
    - the optional black hardware is JUST the outside facing hardware. Not a huge deal but not what I thought I payed for.
    - the machined openings in the bar tops for inserting hold downs are ONLY on one channel, a weird design decision in my opinion.

While I am slightly relieved I am not the only one with the same concerns, I kind of sucks that this company is having these issues. Its a real easy fix. Either way, my opinion still is that its a great product, and I will continue to support these guys. I just hope some QC improvements happen.

...And the notch in only ONE t-slot. Like... wtf.... hahaha. They should have notched all the slots on one end... no?

Same here...makes no sense to only notch one of the 2 sides...that just means I have to remove the bar anyway so putting 1 notch is kinda pointless...all or nothing, amirite?

Mine also had some burrs, in the logo, that I knocked off prior to installing. I got a small cut from one of them, which is the only reason I noticed.

Other than that, still loving mine.

Something that most haven't mentioned is that the rack is also dead silent unless there is a crosswind. I drive 90mi a day and it's mostly highway, so noise was a big concern of mine before installing.

    Agreed. Very quiet.

One other thing I noticed is that when it is raining, the air deflector is creating a vortex which is pushing the water on my roof forward (I can see with my sunroof). I really doubt there is any issue here. I just hope there isnt an issue with water constantly running in that direction. I think the sunroof is well sealed, but you never know.
