Been waiting for this thread. I am leaning towards the Victory 4x4 rack. I already have the Strike sliders installed and think the rack would be a great complement

Man that looks like a straight up rip off of Prinsu? Front fairing looks identical, I guess you put some cut outs in the side bars, which I expect just makes it more likely to bend thought right?

They are totally different side profiles, front fairings, rear fairings (we have one,) and mounting feet designs. The only similarities are that they are roof racks that hold things and we both use aluminum extrusion for the crossbars, which is a product that neither of us make. Our side rails are more than strong enough for the loads needed.

Not sure what else to tell you. It's a simple roof rack, do you want us to put some wings or something on it so it looks totally different? Is no one else allowed to make a roof rack? Two posts up you are making fun of the dude that designed something different

I guess but the TOPoverland one linked above is different. Anyway, doesn't matter to me, I've got no stake in the roof rack game. :)

Yeah I remember that one, looked like he took a prinsu apart then traced it. haha.

Ive got one! Its great. Very well built. Just as good as prinsu. I went with Victory because of the great customer service and lower leadtimes as well as price was about what i wanted to pay. I like their design better too. You cant go wrong with either though.

Go check out my post in https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tacoma-roof-rack-2nd-3rd-gen-05.603651/page-3#post-20688947

2 layers of 1/4" 6062 aluminum as opposed to 1 3/16" aluminum. there is a 1/2" gap between the inner and outer pieces to hide all of your wiring. feet are also 1/4" aluminum and have a tig welded gusset. we also replace the stock antenna with our thinFIN.

They are similarly designed so IMO i really don't see where you can go wrong with either. The cross bars are pretty standard so all you're really paying for is the side rails to attach 47" cross bars to (and the cost of the cross bars themselves of course). I'd go with what ever one you feel has a better aesthetic for your truck as I'd imagine they are probably engineered with in the same tolerances or near enough to not matter much.

One thing to add about the Prinsu is you are able to position your cross bars in almost any configuration and these seem like its pretty fixed locations.

I think you can get the Prinsu a little cheaper shopping around other authorized dealers than the price you have listed. But i think all you have to look at is 2 things and ask whats more important: Aesthetics and/or if you want to save a few bucks.

As far as the prinsu bending lol... trying bending your knee in the way its not designed and see what happens.

The victory price point is very attractive and the free shipping is a huge plus. I personally don’t love the way it looks compared to the prinsu. If the look doesn’t bother you I don’t see any reason to go with the much more expensive prinsu.
