lookimg into purchasing a prinsu roof rack. I also love the custom look to @mesojdm roof rack as well. Just wondering if I should vinyl wrap the roof first. I read somewhere to help prevent any rusting. Is there any truth to this?

Also is there anyone out there that makes alternative hood scoop grilles?

Only thing I could say to it helping from preventing rust is it providing a rub barrier between the roof rack and paint(which you should probably put some sort of rubber material in between) and then silicone the holes where you'd install the riv nuts.

The only place the track touches the roof (besides the spacers you bolt through) is right under the wind screen and you can get a piece of weatherstripping so that contact is not metal on metal. I bought a piece of clear 3m tape to put there, but messed it up so didn't end up using it like other people have.

There is a prinsu forum here and a ton of information in the bs thread. You should check that out of you haven't.

+1, I would look into powdercoating/painting the bolts that go into the roof as they seem to be the only things I can see rusting on mine.

I also used this strip for the wind deflector, just needed to cut it to size.

Thanks fellas. I have noticed in photos some have wrapped there roofs and was thinking that may be to prevent rust and/or to minimize the paint being damaged due to dirt you cannot clean
