After a couple days of research here that's what I decided to get. Just curious if you had to "alter the sensor angle" with the taco garage setup?

I've read that when choosing the stock gray/silver lettering option that some aftermarket clone Pro grilles have the "backing" of the T and A also gray/silver, not black like the rest of the letters. Can anyone else confirm or deny this?

OK, the sensor has two bolts on each side, but ONE screw at the top. When you are switching out the sensor from your old grill to the new one, when bolting it onto the grill, insert one or two thin washers between the sensor and the grill, as that will then "tilt" the sensor microscopically, upwards, to then counter the effect of of it being lower than it was when it was behind the round toyota logo on the non-trdpro models. Then just put the new grill on and everything will be fine. Just make sure to unplug the battery while you are doing all this, so as to reset the computer. But this whole thing, switching out the grill, will only take an hour at the most if you have watched several of the many videos on youtube that feature how to swap out a grill for the TRD Pro. The first time will be slow, but after you do it, you could do it the next time in probably 30 minutes or less.

You brought up a point that there are actually TWO different models of the TRD Pro grill, those that come with stick on letters and those that come with an actual plastic TOYOTA plastic piece that SCREWS onto the grill from the back. I have heard so many people on here who bought the grill with the stick on letters and later on down the road, they "lost" a letter or two and then need a replacement. Yeah, good luck with that! So I MUCH prefer the one where the TOYOTA letters screw on from the back of the grill. Just makes me feel a little more secure!

Thanks. I've had my SR grille out a couple times. Once to poke holes to install grklle lights and the other to install fog lights (just made it easier to install properly, so I'm familiar with the process, I never really paid attention to the TSS sensor and how it was mounted so thanks for the heads up. I'm personally ok with my factory sr grille, my son isnt. So I figured I'd get him the pro grille that he has been barking about for the past year

I got mine from the Taco Garage and it came with the letters already on, which was a pleasant surprise because I was expecting to have to put them on myself. I got the garnish from Amazon because it was a bit cheaper. It worked fine for about 2 weeks. Then for about 3 days straight I periodically got the collision sensor error. For the past 5 days or so it's been working fine without any errors. Tomorrow it might run off and join the service. Maybe I should have spent a few more bucks and ordered the garnish from the Taco Garage. I don't know, I guess it's kind of a crapshoot.

I've heard good things about Taco Garage's grille. Do the T and A having the black backing like the rest of the letters?

Here's a close up of the Taco Garage grill (letters already attached) with the Amazon garnish. Easy install and looks great. The only issue I had was the two plastic locking washers that came with the garnish wouldn't snap on, so I just lit a candle and used some tweezers to heat them up and slide them on to secure it to the grill.

I get it. A lot of people complain about how everyone it seems, swaps out their OEM grills for TRD Pro style, but ya' know, while it does seem like everyone does it, to me, the TRD Pro grill just does look better.

I also got mine from Taco Garage, letters and garnish already on board.
Install was a breeze, no issues with the radar sensor.. ever. Well, unless it's caked with snow/ice lol!

No, I didn't have to make any adjustments, just fit the grill (garnish came pre-installed) and it was good to go

Our grilles have always been shipped out FULLY ASSEMBLED, we do this in part so that we can guarantee that everything will fit and it also means a better experience for you guys. It also means that we personally unbox and re pack every grille. We have a much greater chance of catching defects by doing this.

We have never had to do any such adjustments to our grilles. We have a quality grille and garnish that do not require special "tricks" to get them to work.
