Bam Bam is out for MXDN.

    Below is Barcia’s full post.

“I bleed USA. I’m always honored to represent team USA at the MXoN.

Unfortunately, I have pulled myself out of the running to represent on a 250 this year. I rode the bike a week ago and told the crew the bike and myself could bring it home for USA but after a ton of debating I don’t believe it would be fair to the team when I’m not able to 100% prepare on a 250 right now.

After Washougal I flew back to California to work with @tld_raceteam on my 450. I haven’t gotten to a spot this year where I feel I’m riding to my full potential so I have to keep giving my 450 season all my attention which won’t allow me to dedicate enough time to prepare for a 250 MXoN run.

I’m very thankful for this opportunity,

I wish team USA the best of luck and look forward to another opportunity next season ❤️”

Props to him for stepping up but he was never the right choice for that spot. And I think they told him as much and this is just PR.

What guys are coming back in a few weeks? So far I've seen Dean Wilson should be back. Malcolm or is he letting his knee heal up? Ferrandis going to show up?

I thought Malcom was SX only? I'm kinda bitter that Shane didn't get to ride out the series so that Dean could come back. I like Dean, but #12 should still have that spot.

He just turned 1 in May, but trust me, I have 5-10 different 50s saved on FB Market place right now. Cause.... I need one in the meantime.

I forget too quick who is sx only. That is a bummer for Shane. I'm sure he was mentally prepared that it was only part of the season.
Looks like joey savatgy is riding the whole time. I'd assume AC is waiting for sx.

Malcolm is coming back and Dean. Because they let McElrath go, for his fill-in duty.

I think Ferrandis also is coming back.

So basically Monster getting involved with Lorettas / MX Sports was step 1, a couple years ago. Then this year with Nationals was sort of step 2. And the goal here was to work with Feld (SX) and sort of give USA-based teams/incentives to stay here to race and do both series. Also, by packaging both series as 1 product, it makes for better payouts and TV deals. So it's basically just good for everything. Riders and teams stay here and compete for both (in theory) they can make more money and you have the Factories on board, which is always a huge factor. And with the WSX looming, it takes away incentive for some guys to want to skip out and do that instead (which I don't think too many would do that anyways, but that is another topic for another time lol.) And with Monster wanting to have a bigger presence in the MX/SX scene, that brings them more exposure and more $ into the sport. And also, this should make for a much better, unified TV package.
