Picked up this 18 pro with 5k miles. Was in a slight fender bender and now I need to decide to put back to OEM or customize. What would you do? My shop is quoting me about 7k it put is back to OEM spec.

If you plan on making a modded rig, with a front plate bumper, don’t invest in a new OEM front end and then just scrap it. If you want a stock rig, get an OEM front end. The choice is really yours.

    I’d go plate bumper myself.

Plate bumper and morimoto headlights with Baja squadron fogs. You will need to find a white front bumper to cut up for almost all of the plate bumpers though. They can be found used and cheap on Craigslist.

I just ordered a Demello at 20% off from State48 Overland for their 4th of July sale. My other top options were Mobtown Hybrid or C4 Hybrid.

Got it on the frame rack and everything is within spec. Pulled apron and then replaced which was 8hr labor. Not just need to reassemble but not sure what to do to it.

Were you able to find out why someone would scrap a Pro that was just in a fender bender? If I was in an accident that just needed cosmetic, I wouldn't just turn over my Pro...

It's more than cosmetic but the owner has several high-end cars and negotiated a payout instead of repair. Its not an uncommon practice especially if your have a lawyer and are factoring depreciation loss of use ect.

If the vehicle was covered with insurance, which it sounds like; the insurance would only issue a payout if the vehicle was deemed a total loss correct? Meaning that the shop would have to provide "evidence" of vehicle damages that would classify it as totaled due to cost of repairs exceeding vehicle current value? I'm curious as to how a payout was negotiated instead of repair while actually providing an honest report of vehicle damages. It would cost the insurance less to fix it versus paying out the owner for the amount of the vehicle? Something about this just seems a bit off, not trying to stir the pot or anything. The "grey" area of the auto industry is very shady and disheartening; just curious as to how this went about. If this was all done with integrity and by the book you got a nice find, congrats.

I think they claimed depreciated value and loss of use. The insurance company decided it would be less cost paying out instead of dealing with the repair on top of the other items. Anyway the history isn't really clear but whatever the case I'm happy to get it for a good price :). I'll post pictures once it's done.

I'd go with a steel bumper, then if you get in a fender bender you won't even have to contact insurance! lol I'd also get one for the back bumper too. How much did you pick it up for if you don't mind me asking
