Hey fellas. Well, I received my skidplate today, but the box had a hole in it. The (2) front holes and (2) middle holes had screws and spacers in tact. However the rears were missing. I found one bolt floating around in the box, but missing the other. Obviously it fell out of the box while in transit.

No big deal, but my question is... does the rear have the bolts and spacer sleeves, or is it just the bolts itself. Any input from u guys who has installed one that can chime in would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No spacers on the rear. As you can see, the spacers on the front and middle are captive, so that's why you didn't lose them. I had a missing rear bolt as well. I went and replaced them all with stainless steel hardware.

I'm no expert, but I would say no. There wont be any tension in the bolt, as all forces will be compressive. Shear forces could be an issue, but not enough to justify extreme hardware... in my humble opinion. The skid is made of aluminium, so that will fail long before the steel hardware.

My opinion is open to other peoples opinions and I reserve the right to change my mind. :cookiemonster:

    Lol nice disclaimer:p

I dont think youll have any problem or need for grade 8 bolts. Id just go and get something stainless that is the correct length and thread pitch. Slap that sucker on and start enjoying it. Looks like a really nice plate if you dont offroad much and just want some better undercarriage protection

I received mine with one of the lower bolts missing. Box was intact, no holes. Coincidence?

Nah. Someone is collecting bolts in the packing department.

Look for bolts for sale on eBay. :D

Toyota really should tape down those screws. It's really dumb how they ship some parts. Just like how the pro grille's used to come with broken tabs because of the way they were packaged up.
