Just seen way too many idiots on the roads with trailers etc when they have no clue what they are doing and often cause accidents.

Touché. You make a good point. Sometimes it's worth the risk.

you mean you don't like the fact that we have 0 options up here?
like how in the US they can add blind spot and JBL to any model but here nope?

Toyota will tell you they did focus groups and concluded that the canadian folk don't want these options etc.
You know thats why we didn't get the TRD OR double cab in 2016 model only 2017 lol.
When I asked one of the reps at the Canadian auto show they told me that and I asked did their focus group only have soccer moms in it that drive minivans?

I don't think we can stop the idiots, so might as well help them. Trailer sway control helps a lot of people, this back up feature would be nice if it works well. I see it working to automatically keep your trailer straight for long straight backups. Such as an alley way. The system will input steering to keep truck/trailer straight by not touching a thing.

I have an older co worker that ordered a '98 taco in with steel wheels (aluminum pits he says) manual windows, no AC, etc etc. Salesman thought he was crazy. Thing is times change and vehicles evolve.

I know, I never understood why certain models were only available in the USA. I mean give us a taco, let us choose from a few wheels, leather! Locking diff, I mean a trd off road comes only with chrome rear bumper in access cab, double cab gets colour matched, who comes up with this shit? And trd off road with a long bed would be useful, or at least the option to buy one here! Baby steps I guess!

The lack of a trd off road (2016) and nice leather interior is a big reason I'm in a '16 4Runner trail edition, same as trd pro inside, which isn't available up here either! (4Runner)

On the topic of idiots on the road who don't know what they are doing, you'll get me riled up and grumpy too. :) Trailer or not.

Toyota won't sell it to us

So grass isn't greener in the USA regardless of how many Mexicans cut it

Well maybe not greener, but a little thicker! Lol how hard could it be?

In Canada dclb was always the auto and dcsb was only manual up to 2016.
trd off road is now a dcsb auto.

    What forum is this ?!

Also why no SR or SR5 manual double cab in the USA ?

If you want manual you are either stuck with SR access cab or you have to pony up big bucks for sport OR or PRo in double cab

Hopefully the new GM twins and ford ranger will put extra pressure on them to start giving more options. Competition is always good.

Like the "automatic" transmission, why doesn't everyone drive manual transmission like they're supposed to.....

And power brakes, electric start, fuel injection, power steering, cruise control, automatic hubs, you get the idea.

Yes, the idea that people actually "drove" their own vehicles is going to be strange in about 20 years.

might just be from the city I live in but holy fuck are drivers ever terrible.
Put it this way driving here all the time and then driving in NYC, the drivers seem so much smarter.

Typical domestic gimmick to move units. It will be broken 3 years after purchase and depreciated twice what the comparable Toyota product would be.

Aside from the bromance(s?) & market whining.... I have to LOL that any of you think Toyota would be competitive with vehicle content. For Christ sake they didnt offer auto climate control until 2016, but thank God for that GoPro mount, that'll show the world they mean business! I have a Toyota, I love my Toyota, but lets all agree they will never be on the bleeding edge of competitive features. K thanks bye.

My 05 Lexus LS had amazing features that cars don't have today

Tacoma might not be cutting edge, but to say Toyota as a company hasn't been cutting edge isn't correct

Lexus is their boutique pet project, not fair comparing that to the common folk offerings of the mother company. My sentiments are more aimed at the trucks, the cars seem to have more content but that market is more competitive with a lot more players so they have to at least look like they're trying. This is all picking nits, can we agree Toyota will likely never offer this on the Tacoma? If they do on the Tundra it's at least 10 years away.

Truck sales lead the market. I think Toyota makes a good product and sells well (midsize a naysay, tundra sales aren't even close) I also think they would sell even more if they added a few features to their trucks that domestics have, it can and has been done reliably. The 2016 added some nice features, so that's good to see.
