I found set of wheels I really dig. They are 17x9 with a -12 offset, and 4.5”BS

I’ve wanted a set of Falken Wilkpeaks for a min now. Anyways, im unsure if the 17x9 is too wide for the 275/70/r17’s and I can’t seem to find any definitive answers. Anyone have any experience? Thanks!

Falken lists the size you want as needing a 7-8.5” wheel width. Not that you couldn’t, but probably shouldn’t….

I would not recommend a wheel that width and offset for plenty of other reasons.

    All the things!
    They'll fit, no problem...

They will rub though, and you'll need a CMC.

They'll go, but 9" is a 1/2" outside the box.
    Falken sez 7" -8.5"

thanks! When you say you wouldn’t recommend, are you speaking specifically to the -12? The -12 seems to be one of the most popular offers on the 3rd gen (aside from zero)

Question for ya. I’m lifted 2.5” (suspension, if that matters) and I’ve seen may folks running -12 offsets, with the lift, and these with no rub at all.

You can see why this is all too confusing lol. Especially if you believe they’ll rub. I know 285’s would for sure.

Those southern boys like to put 10" wide tires on 20" wide wheels. They call it stretching or something. I can think of something else they're stretching too... :anonymous:

    lmao

well, I decided to play it safe, and went with the WilkPeak’s and a set of 8.5” at a 0mm offset.
