Problem with 4x4 Light

Hi, I am experiencing a strange issue with my Tacoma. I have a 2010 6 speed manual 4.0 4x4 and when I turn 4x4 on the light keeps flashing. However unlike what it sounds in most of the posts on tacomaworld, it does in fact shift into 4wd and I can feel and hear the front lock in.

Then again on shifting out of 4wd the truck does shift out and back down to 2wd but the light stays on and keeps flashing. The only way I can get the light to stop flashing is by turning off the truck.

I have not yet tried to shift to 4LOW. If anyone has any advice please advise.
