make his life hell by doing little insignificant things that indirectly make his day harder.

slowly ramp them up as time goes on.

be sure to not make it seem malicious in anyway

fuck that guy he sounds like a cock and since things cant be handled the old fashioned way anymore with out some dumb work place violence bullshit.

get creative. i have a lot of laughs at my job with coworkers when you get tools coming in acting like their all that.

exactly,if he's a dick to co-workers, he likely has the same attitude towards customers. You own YOUR relationship with the customer; offer service to the customer, and when they have a problem with the sales person, they'll come to you.

You don't have to do anything but look at him with absolutly no emotion. Guys like this are extreamly self conscious. I know he is insecure. It will creep him out, try it sometime, its fucking awesome.

You were confident enough to ask him nicely why he behaved this way. I bet when he was responding to you he didn't even look you in the eye. That was not because he thought you were a piece of shit, it was beause he lacked the confidence to do so.

No games, no retalitation, just go about your job normally. Eventually it will bother him enough to approach you and act like an adult.

This shit starts on the playground, they just keep doing it thru their adult years.

If you're making 6 healthy figures then sorry deal with it, most of us don't make anything close to that and have to deal with 10x the crap.

    Interesting.

So, how many sales people does this company have and what percentage of the gross does he get done?

I sure get keeping the customer happy and I get your take on not having your area screwed up anytime he pleases. That and his seeming lack of understanding for you work group tells me he's an somewhat of an ass.

I do think, even though you said several times, it was personal. Not personal as in personality (though that's part of it) personal as in you directed it right at him because he helped do it (for a reason) and didn't help undo it until he was asked.

The flip side is, maybe he is a "big deal" to the company and they will take care of him. I know where I work (huge company) we hourly employees are tasked with doing things both not in our job discription and to "wine and dine" the "clients" if need be. Not in the typical golf outing or bar scene but, by disrupting our work area and making special exception for them. It's just part of our gig.

Because he makes 6 figures, he is not allowed to ask and honest question?

I guess this is off topic discussions, he can ask and you can reply. But you are correct, most don't make 6 digits and have to deal with lots of crap. That's life.

    Please continue the scheduled program.

I used to work with someone like that at a hotel. She was in her mid 40's, borderline bi-polar and thought she was my boss even though we were at the same pay grade. Even though I was in my 20's she treated me like a kid. I always wanted to say something back but she would manipulate situations by finding faults in my work or waiting until someone else was around before talking down to me so it'd be less likely I'd retaliate. I ended up walking out one day because I was tired of her s*** and never looked back - but at least I had some other reasons (the hotel was going bankrupt and becoming more of a dump every day, management was useless and there was no way I'd come close to seeing six figures at that place) so I cut my losses.

Dunno where I was really going with that but I'd say just stand up for yourself however you see fit. Assuming this guy isn't your manager and not many other people favor him either, treat him the way he deserves to be treated - like crap. I commend you for actually trying to have an intelligent conversation with the guy, the best thing I could do with my ex-coworker was give her the silent treatment until she felt stupid and tried to be nice to me again. Seriously, don't even feel like you have to be polite to people like that, chances are this type of attitude has been carved in his brain for a long time and he won't be changing soon. So as long as this guy isn't involved in the security of your job I'd say give him hell and let him know how you really feel, if I could go back in time that's what I'd do :D

Is he a supervisor or someone who can fire you? Doesn't sound like it and most salesmen aren't. Most of them have over-inflated ego's because customers fill his head up so they can get better deals. He's a nobody, with no character, and I would treat him accordingly.

Being a regional sales manger I would certainly find his actions concerning. Not knowing the overall business culture that exists in your situation makes it difficult to access. You will always have challenges with co-workers, the question is how many co-workers, which again speaks to the culture of a specific business. His actions would certainly represent poor problem solving skills as well as a lack of professionalism.

This is true. And, if this is the culture the company promotes, do you really want to be this guy in 3-4 years?

Sometimes you need to have it out with someone first then you start to get along better than you thought. Also he might have a office position but I would still show him I am a man too. Your responsible for the warehouse... not him.

You have been there two months, make good money, and have a bright future. Suck it up for a while. Everyone you work with probably knows he is a DBag as well. You will get the reputation as one who is able to work with difficult people for the good of the team.... which never hurts. He's just screwing with the new guy.

Hold it on the six figure salary, that is what the OP stated was his potential IF he was in sales, which he isn't at present...

Tread lightly, the new man on the block, no matter what talent he may have or think he has ain't gonna make spit if it comes down to he said, no, but he said krap...

OP, where you in sales previously and you accepted this lower paying position with the promise of advancement, or is it your desire to move up to sales once you establish your cred with this company?

Bad situation all around, I have seen this in action before, seniority welds a heavy hand in these situations...

Wait a second?! I thought u were a Millionaire from selling lights!? Rumor is that you grossed about 780k last year off of Tacoma world alone so don't pull this u have a "wear house job" when in fact you are the boss of all these people and you own this massive wear house in Alaska. I also heard that you sell so much rigid stuff they actually sold you half the company so your set for life. ;)

Lol just tryin to get a laugh. Good luck at the real job though!
