So this morning I went out and started my truck, and the Entune screen was frozen on a solid white screen. I tried shutting the truck off hoping the system would reboot and fix itself. However, when I shut the key off, the white screen stayed on. I disconnected the battery, and when I reconnected it the white screen came right back. I pulled both radio fuses for a few minutes, and the system finally rebooted. The white screen is gone, but now there is no sound at all from the stereo, and it reboots about every 30 seconds. Backup camera works, phone connects, it responds to my input on the touch screen but not the steering wheel.

    Any ideas?

No, you can do it on your own, all you need is a flash drive and download the update and instruction, slap it into the slot by the power outlet in the dash and go.

Fortunately, it seems to have fixed itself for now. It is now working problem free.

To anyone having the white screen issue...

Bought my 2013 Tacoma and the screen has been going in and out since I bought it. One moment it's fine then it starts going bright white with vertical lines.

I pulled the head unit and opened up the front. Pulled the black tabs to release the 2 wide white wire ribbons and the single orange one. Gave them all a light wipe with a clean cloth, then reinstalled them, replaced the head unit and now my screen has been bug free for the past while. I'll update if it goes out again but I'm pretty sure it was just a matter of a bad connection on the ribbons.

Same issue - White Screen of Death, drove car for 15 minutes, parked for 2 hours, battery drained. Had battery recharged and removed Radio 1 fuse, car starts but if I put the fuse back in, same thing, battery drains. Disconnected battery, re-attached - same result. The unit doesn’t have NAV so there is no software update. Radio appears to be fried. Any ideas on how it could be shorting out?

I'm in the same boat. About six months ago I noticed that when I started my 2013 DCLB in the morning, the screen would flash white then the colors would remain inverted (all the touchscreen labels and buttons worked- they were just black and orange rather than the normal blue tones) until I drove the truck for 15mins or so. It made we think it was an ambient temperature issue, but living in SOCAL it doesn't get very cold so I don't think that was it.

That scenario lasted about 3 months until one day when I started my truck the screen came on normal and did so regularly after which was a relief- until about three days ago... Now all I have is a solid white screen. I tried the check for updates this morning but after putting in my truck info I receive a message that says there "aren't any updates available for this mutimedia unit". DAMN!

My plan is to pull the head unit this morning and see if it's one of the aforementioned wiring issues and go from there.

Update- I pulled the head unit out of dash and inspected each of the connections and plugs and everything looked good. I reinstalled everything, reconnected the battery, gave the key a turn and... still had the solid white screen .

With a possible trip to the dealership on my mind, I ended up going about my day and sometime in the afternoon whilst driving the screen came back but in the "inverted color scheme" (white, black and orange). All the touch screen functions worked but the colors were all wrong. Damn thing!

I'm just going to drive it for a couple of days and see what happens.

Any updates? My 9/14 build Tacoma just started doing this and pulling the fuse has not reset this. Any help or updates on how to fix this would be appreciated!
